Nice pencils and a reasonable selection of colours
I like the tin they came in and the colour selection. I have used these pencils before, so know what to expect. They are very soft and creamy and require careful sharpening. One did arrive with a broken point, but this is a common problem with very soft pencils. My only other criticism is the plastic insert trays, which seem a bit flimsy and may not survive much use. Having said that the pencils are lovely to use and lay down colour well with minimal pressure, they also blend really well.

Lovely soft pencils - easy to blend - high quality
Just received this 72 set of coloured pencils. Thanks Amazon for such speedy service. Received in less than a week from the U.K. to Canada with standard delivery! These coloured pencils from Derwent are good quality. I had the 24 set and it’s definitely worth it to have expanded it to 72. Lots of lovely greys in the set. All the colours are rich and blend extremely well. Plus although not all are lightfast, they have been tested for lightfastness so artists can use them to sell their art.The only drawback I’ve had with the 24 set was some breakage. Make sure to use a very good quality sharpener with a sharp blade and sharpen gently. All in all though, I’m satisfied with their performance. They need to come out with singles so you don’t have to buy a whole set to replace a pencil.I do want to add that I bought these when there was a terrific markdown. Just lucky I guess. At the original price, I do think these are too expensive. Best to wait a bit for the price to come down.

Fast, fun and forgiving but a bit expensive for what they are.
I'd bought a few of these open stock to try before I got the full set. I was impressed by how easily they sharpened to a point, laid down colour and blended easily by just overlaying the pencils. You can scribble layers quite roughly and still get a good result-unlike with my harder professional sets - and get a finished piece fast. Although they wear down fast.I've knocked a star off because you have to download the colour chart and lightfastness info from Derwent's website and because there are more than I expected with a lower lightfastness. This is a pity as they are good for mixed media use over water based media. I'm not too unhappy as I wanted them for studies and sketchbooks where fading isn't an issue. However they aren't cheap so a budding artist may do better with a 24 set of these and a small set of high-end pencils for the money. ( I like Polychromos.)These are fast, fun and forgiving and don't need blenders or solvent so would be great for kids but are a bit overpriced unless you can find a good deal on them.

Really lovely 150 set
I thought I’d share my swatch of the new 150 set . Gorgeous range of colours ( I put them roughly in the order I prefer ) , I had the 72 set when they first came out which I thought was massively overpriced and the wood quality made me grumpy and I passed them on to a colouring friend . I’m going to say these sharpened better I had 1 or 2 when the wood sharpened “clumpy” ( I’m using a new blade in my sharpener) and 2 : soft yellow and jungle green where that actual lead core is crumbly making it difficult to actually get a point . But I’m very happy , the colour selection is stunning and £150 seems to me a fairer price ❤️

Great pencils
Love these pencils so vibrant, blend beautifully, already had the 72 set so knew what they were like, love the new additional colours added to the set . I sharpen mine with electric sharpener and have had no problems.

Breaking "leads"
I have been using these pencils for six months. The colours are very good and they apply well. I would be very happy with the pencils except that the "lead" breaks very easily, especially when sharpening the pencils. and this is very frustrating and wasteful.

Qualidade
Amei os lápis. São macios e com excelente pigmentação.

Macios e cores vibrantes

Chromaflow are AMAZING!
I purchased these pencils within days of their release. I paid 2x the current offering price, so I wanted to take that into consideration and give myself ample time to assess them properly so I can provide you with a fair and comprehensive review. The Chromaflow line was rumored to be Derwent's attempt to bring a Prismacolor dupe to their UK market, as the former were becoming more difficult to obtain across the pond. Some of you were a little salty about the heritage brand doing a first release in the States, understandably. A choice made, I think, with the best of intentions. They needed to test the pencils in a market familiar with the product they're trying to improve upon. (PC)Chromaflow feature a sleeker barrel than the chunky barrels we've grown accustomed to from Derwent. The pencils are extremely lightweight and elegant with matte black barrels. The gold lettering on the pencils make the text extremely easy to read. The capped ends feature an extremely accurate color representation making selection a breeze. The absolute standout feature of CF is an extremely smooth and even laydown. You can get very rich color payoff with the lightest of applications. These would be great for anyone with dexterity or mobility issues that make using garden-variety colored pencils challenging.I can't stress this next part to you enough. I never realised how much I needed a savory pencil before I had one. It's such a refreshing change to see the standard cream pencil transformed into PARMESAN.I think they're at an awesome price point now, but I'm evaluating them at the price I paid. Please make these available open stock and double the range. I love them!PROS:- rich color payoff with even a light application- easy to sharpen- holds a point longer than competition- fun pencil names- layer and blend seamlesslyCONS (objectively)- soft texture could be a hindrance to those with a heavy hand.- not open stock (yet, I hope)- slimmer than the Derwent standard- a limited range compared to US competitorBuy these even if you "have enough pencils". Do not even hesitate if you don't have access to PCs.Treat yourself to a set of my new favorite Derwent pencils so together we may get more Parmesan into the hands and hearts of the those who need it!
