Do you need a UV light?

Yes. This product is a soft gel until cured with a UV or LED light. Then becomes hard like acrylic.

Can you cut the plastic to make the mail shorter?

You can cut the plastic (if you’re referring to the nail mold, however, you don’t need to. After the poly gel hardens under the UV/LED lamp, you remove the plastic form/mold from the hardened poly gel and you can cut down the nail with your Modelones Nail trimmer to the size you prefer. You can also use cuticle snippers for this. It does take practice. Some advice, don’t use too much slip solution when spreading your poly gel onto the form AND don’t put too much poly gel gel on the form, less is better than more.

How long to cure light apricot? Just spent goes on a set and were liquid in the center

I cure mine (for more opaque and darker colors) between 60 to 120 sec on top and about 30-60sec for the underside to be sure. If you're having trouble with curing, maybe check you lamp wattage, using to low a wattage will cause an increase in time needed for curing, esp for more opaque colors. Also if your lamp is older that could also cause issues if it's toward the end of its lifetime. I currently use a UV LED lamp (the Morovan SUNone UV/LED nail lamp) that has a wattage range of 24w to 48w. When i used a lower watt lamp (8w mini) i did on occasion have issues with darker colors curing or if the product was too thick. Hope this helps.
