Description:
These rugs are knotted in the Holy City of Ghom in Central Persia. The Ghom rug is one of the most exclusive knotting works of the Orient. It is available in three variations: cork wool on cotton, cork wool with silk on cotton and silk on silk. Even the ghom carpet variation cork wool on cotton is excellent. Cork wool comes from the sheath of the lamb's neck. It is soft and greasy, extremely dirt-repellent and extremely durable. Particularly thin threads can be spun from the cork wool, which form a fine weave in dense knots The other Ghom rug variations speak for themselves. The more silk content a rug has, the finer the knotting, the pattern is more detailed, the quality of the rug is higher.

Manufacture:
Handwoven rugs are traditionally made by nomads and farmers, now also manufactured in small studios and factories. When knotting, warp threads are first stretched onto a latch chair, into which the weft is woven across the weft. The result is a base fabric in which the pile thread is now knotted - knots by knots.
