Rothco Large O.D. Canvas Water Bucket

Live at the beach and the grandkids love building sand castles and of course toting a lot of water from the surf to do so. Forget those plastic buckets - the handles break so easily. This canvas bucket is perfect and collapses so that storage is easy too!

I use this to hold about a dozen rolls of trash liners as I go around my job gathering trash. I use an S-hook on the side of my big push bin to hold the bucket as I go around for 3 hours a night. Very durable. Recommend it highly!

Rothco has products that have an excellent price to performance ratio, they also tend to hold up real well, they are honestly made products that, when they are cutting costs, seldom cut costs in a manner that harms the customer and they never hide it.I've bought numerous products from Rothco and I've always had a great experience and this is no different. This is a solid, canvas water bucket, does it leak? no, it's held up real well, however I advise anyone buying this to study up on canvas treatment a bit and do so in a safe manner, I treated mine with organic beeswax to reinforce the canvas and lend durability to it - and it did just that, very well.Five stars Rothco!

I bought 2 of these collapsible Rothco Large Olive Canvas buckets. The purpose was to use these on trips to wash my car as 5 gallon plastic buckets take up too much trunk space. I use the 2 bucket car wash system. One bucket for soap, and one rinse bucket for clean water to keep the soap bucket water clean. Ok, back to the review. These buckets are surprisingly well made in India. The seams are stitched well and the bottom is extra thick with reinforcing. The attached handle is more than sufficient for a full bucket of water. When full, these buckets will stand up on their own with stability and will flatten easy with a downward quarter turn push/twist. Dimensions is 11 inch by 13 inch. If you do intend to use them for car washing, I'd like to inform you that they are wide enough to accommodate a grit guard insert.Now here is the bugaboo. You fill them up for the first time and they leak from the water line down. Not badly, but enough to make a mess in your house and make you wash a car in double time.You see, the manufacturer failed to state you will need to waterproof these with a silicone water sealer available at any camp store or Walmart shoe department. Don't get me wrong, they would be ideal for filling up with stream water and heading back to camp. It takes a while for it all to leak out.I deducted a star for not informing the consumer this, but do recommend these. I'll report back if waterproofing does not cure my issue, but I'm confident it will. Camp stores online sell these for $7.49 + shipping, but I opted to buy them from Amazon for $12.39 free shipping. They ended up being a couple extra dollars, but the security of shopping with Amazon was worth it to me....UPDATE April 3-2013. I bought some 303 fabric guard on Amazon.com and it solved the water leaking issue. This is a product that comes in a pump bottle. I use it for waterproofing convertible tops, and took little time to waterproof these buckets. Pay close attention to the seams under the bottom straps and they will stay dry as a bone on the outside. Very happy with these buckets.

Its about the size of a five gallon bucket which is what I wanted. I leave bag between bed rail of my truck and toolbox so I can grab it when I need to get ice from ice machines at work. I have filled it with water to see how well it'd hold and I'd say its goin to hold all water and no ice for about ten minutes. This bag way exceeds my expectations for durability and functionality.

The product kept leaking all the water out

This an essential product that should be in any vehicle. My kingdom for a bucket when you are faced with a fire or need to gather up water for camping purposes. There are times when you need to gather up items to carry from one place to another.

I purchased this to use to wet down dry sand if I got stuck driving at the beach. I use this as a hamper so that wet bathing suits and towels don't wet the interior of my car. Works great. My only question is what type of metal is used for the top and bottom hoops. I hope that it doesn't rust, will find out soon.
