Inconsistent mix. Changed my 5 star review
Second order review:The mix was way different than the mix I got with my first order. Much darker with mostly lava rocks. I had to add my own pumice and mix it with whatever I had left from my first order. The quality is inconsistent and it made me sad because I was very excited and happy with the first order. Hopefully the company will make each mix with the same percentages.First order review: originally 5 STAR REVIEWI bought this with the intention to use it like lechuza pon in my self watering pots and they're working great! I love that they use way more materials than PON does. I can't wait to order more.

Great for a beach
The only way this could be better would be to have a larger package at a discount.

Great product
I mixed this product with Miracle Grow soil and replanted multiple small cactus and succulents. This improves the drainage.

Seems to work.
I had an aloe plant that was dying and I didn’t know what to do for it. I got this soil and it is still alive, so far. I thought it was a little pricey, and was hoping to have enough left for a small jade plant that I have but there wasn’t much in the bag. I barely had enough for the aloe. Will have to get another bag to top off the aloe plant and transplant the jade.

Excellent Stuff for Lithops
I used this for my Lithops. Keeps them dry and bugs away.

It’s OK… Bonsai Jack is better
In the image, this soil is the smaller bottom bag. Pretty much a tiny bag I ended up using for top soil. It lacks organic matter and volume, even though it’s cheap. If your looking for a small amount for one plant, maybe this will work for you. If you need a lot, I’d suggest Bonsai Jack. Search their website, it’s better pricing than on Amazon AND you can get with organic matter mixed in. I think the 3.5 gallon bag is the smallest size you should buy since the price is the best discounted for a “smaller” quantity than their even LARGER bags, but if you need more, they have that too. Sure, it’s pricey. But you get SO MUCH MORE PRODUCT! Well worth it if you have many plants to repot.

Great for topping succulents in teeny pots
Just the perfect size for covering the surface of succulent pots! The varied colors blend nicely, and so far I've noticed they hold leaf cuttings upright effectively. I kind of imagined the bag would be larger, but after potting up 2 dozen little plants, I am really surprised how little of this material was needed to completely cover everything, with lots and lots left over for future cuttings. Besides looking neat and tidy, I’ve found this stuff is just heavy enough to keep the dry succulent potting mix from floating away at the first watering, which also keeps cuttings in place as they root. Hadn’t tried to mix this with a potting mix, but it would certainly improve the drainage.

Not as uniform in size and not as clean
These are about a $1 less to the bag ones made by the Next Gardener. However they are less uniform (rock sizes) than the ones from Next Gardener. Also, these have more debris (i.e. sand, powdered rocks, etc.) that when you get to the end of the back you end up with a few spoonful of "sand". Kind of like when someone bashed the bag with a hammer a few times.
