Solved the 2nd ram chip slot problem
I had 2- 2 GB ram chips originally, recently my 2012 "mid year" Mac book pro kept crashing. Learning some times that the lower slot for ram goes bad and when the laptop get moved or bumped it crashes. I bought this one 8 GB chip and installed it in the top slot, leaving the bottom one empty, problem solved. It's been 2 months now, no problem.
