I recently purchased this item as well as another piece in the Simplihome Connaught line. Both arrived well packed and without a blemish. The directions were easy to follow, with pictures AND words! The solid wood pieces are beautiful and look more expensive than they were. I hope to purchase more items in this line in the future.

We got this in black to complement some antique Asian painted bookshelves in our library, and it's a beautiful addition. The storage space and size make it a very versatile piece with many potential uses. There were only a few small nicks to the finish that were easily touched up with a fine black Sharpie. One person can assemble it, but it takes a long time as there are a lot of steps. You'll need to create your own drill holes to screw on the back panels or the screws may go in crooked as the wood is solid, which adds more time. I appreciate that stickers that match assembly directions are strategically placed so they will be hidden when fully assembled, so they're not necessary to remove. If you want to remove them, most will not come off easily and will require Goo Gone. If I'd realized this earlier in the assembly process, it would have taken me 3 hours instead of 4 hours to assemble. It was worth the effort, and I would buy it again.

Looks very nice once put up, but the process of assembling is a pain, took me about 3 hours. In order to hide all the screws, this product is designed with very weird screw angles. Some pieces comes dented, especially one matel drawer slider, I bent it back with tools but the drawer doesn't slide as smooth as the other one. Lastly, the doors doesn't line up perfectly, but it's hard to notice. With all this been said, I still love how it looks once put up, and it fit perfectly in our narrow entryway, I think it's a great valued product.

First, I love this cabinet. Second, I was lucky they shipped this all the way to Hawaii as their website said they only ship to the 48 states. I got lucky!Assembling - putting this together required two people. Although you could use a manual screwdriver, we used some power tools and predrilling the wholes, so we did not crack or splinter the wood. Instructions are very clear and outlines very well. All parts and bags are numbers with numerical and letters to tell you what piece goes where. It even has indicators to tell you which way is front. It took some time to make sure the doors were even when installing, but in the end, we got it. I am very thankful for the extra parts as some of the screw locks cracked.Delivery & Packaging - I will say this thing is packed very well. It made it to Hawaii with no scratches or cracks. Although the box was 100 lbs, and our UPS guy had a workout, this solid wood storage cabinet was packed very well, and all pieces, including the glass, were intact.Overall I love this storage cabinet. I would repurchase it and other products from SIMPLIHOME; however, I think this was not supposed to ship to Hawaii based on their shipping policy. I tried to order another product from them on their website here on Amazon. I was denied as it was outside of the 48 states. In the future, I hope they will ship to Hawaii. I don't mind paying the extra charge as their products are of quality. You can't get this here, and most of the products you can get are particleboard. Mahalo for making a quality product, and I hope I can order in the future.

This is the second piece of Simplihome Connaught furniture I’ve purchased through Amazon and I am just as frustrated with this piece for the same issues as I experienced with the first piece (the same cabinet but the shorter version). My problem is with the garbage hardware they provide. The metal screws and cambolts are so soft and easy to break. It’s so damn frustrating. I’m a 53 year old woman who has the arm strength of SpongeBob and I’m not using Hurculean strength to overtighten the hardware - especially the cambolts, which should just be easy peasy to rotate into the locking position. I really don’t understand how they can break so easily. I have many other pieces of furniture also ordered from Amazon as well as Ikea and have never had a cambolt break in any of those pieces. With the first piece of Simplihome furniture, I chalked it up to it being my fault somehow. However, a year passed and I went ahead and ordered this matching piece and had the same dadgum problem. This furniture is actually a storage cabinet for my grandkids’ toys (arranged Montessori-style). I just put it in place after assembling it, filled the cabinet shelves with their baskets of toys, puzzles, art supplies etc., opened one of the drawers and there sat a broken cambolt that had fallen out when I moved the cabinet across the room to get it into position. Now the bottom shelf is missing one bolt on one side. Considering that this particular shelf forms the bottom of the cabinet and only 4 bolts hold it together, that’s a problem. This is so irritating. No more Simplihome furniture for me.Pictured are the five canbolts which broke during (and one after) assembly).

When we first moved into this house I bought a cabinet for the microwave and to store my many bottles of Torani syrup. But it always looked cheap. Then I read an article about how someone solved her kitchen storage problem with a sideboard. I found this one on Amazon but I hesitated. Then one day I went to look at it again and the price had dropped $70 and they were offering 12 months, interest free so I grabbed it.I was told to expect two weeks shipping but it arrived in a week. The instructions were clear, everything was well organized and clearly marked. We had a little trouble with the doors as there were no guide holes, only dimples. Did not use the shelves as the Torani with pumps were too tall. I never planned to use them. I am very happy with it.
