All Through the Night: A Welsh Western Paperback – 1 Sept. 2020

Was a bit sceptical at first about a Welsh western but am now converted. Like a Welsh Lonesome Dove. Fast paced and plenty of action. Good characterizations and characters you can care about. I will be looking for more by this author. I really enjoyed it. Thanks

The vivid description of the location.felt asthough the author must be at east a native floridian.a fast paced story with a complex plot made an absorbing read.proof reading should have picked up a lot of words run together which became irritating.

I only read half of this book as it is certainly not something I would normally purchase. Having read the blurb on Amazon I thought to give it a try. There is quite a bit of Welsh poetry and song filtered into the story. If I had wanted a a book containing such beautiful verses, there are many better on the market. The story itself might have been interesting but unfortunately the style is that of a young teenager with a grasp of past history trying the weave facts and fiction together in a not very interesting way. Sorry to say I did not like this book.

Rawhide could easily have been set in Wales. Just wanted the novel not to stop like the drovers, gives a whole new way of looking at Wales before we stuck our heads down the mines in the belief that Welsh history is all about miners. Add to those miners, those Welsh drovers in the late 18th Century. Gives a wholly different picture in the mind to the customary view of those Welsh hills.

This is a great little adventure which I thoroughly enjoyed whilst travelling. Bite sized chapters with never a dull moment whilst retaining a sense of originality.
