The quality of these appear to be very nice.We did receive the wrong color and size, however that is quickly remedied though Amazon.The shoe itself is very nice, we would have kept the shoes if the right size.The blue, gray and green is very nice.These also have very nice tread.

Worth the price because they last. My son is a typical boy who does all the crazy things with shoes - climbs trees, plays soccer, jumps in mud....these shoes are still in great condition so i'm Ok with the higher price, The last - they didn't wore out or fell apart, nothing peals or have a hole in them like cheaper shoes often do. I'll stick with merrell in the future because the ones we got from Target fell apart in 2 months. I'm willing to pay double or more no problem for shoes which are comfy and sole doesnt have hole in it in month or three. Thanks Merrell for making good quality kids shoes. We went hiking in Yosemite, got soaked on Mist trail and shoes dried pretty quickly too. great hiking shoes or everyday use

Great shoe, I buy Merrill shoes for my nine year old every year. Great fit and comfort.

Overall good walking shoe. I love the Velcro for my son. The slipping on and off also makes it easier for him to put on.Downside, the lacing that they use, the kind that’s on camping backpacks or Jan sport backpacks starts to dig into the top of his foot. I will have to cut the laces and just have him utilize the velcro.

Day hiking for 7 year old, runs just a bit large from other similar size brands

My son loves these shoes, and they are holding up well. They have a nice wide shape, and fit my son well, he hates buying shoes, but ordering them online makes it so much easier. I’m so glad I can find such nice quality shoes without driving all over town looking for something decent in his size.

My son was growing out of his size 8 Stride Rites so I bought these in a size 9. They were so tight I could barely get his foot in. These run very small.

From previously buying these, I already knew they ran slightly small and narrow so I got a half size up and purchased the wide.

Sturdy shoes for kids who are hiking or outdoors a lot.

I thought these were so adorable but they run super small and I had to return them. I would recommend sizing up.

We got these for my son to wear to forest preschool, which starts in a few weeks. We had him try the shoes on to make sure they fit and he insisted on wearing them outside. They’re now his favorite shoes. He’s worn them all over, in dirt and mud and sand. They have great traction. They’re not “waterproof” but they do seem to keep his feet dry in wet grass or dirt. Much better than sneakers. They seem very durable. We’re impressed and sure we’ll get a second pair to have as backup.He’s got wide feet and the 12W fit just like other brands of shoes he wears.Update / Warning: when they get wet (like soaked through), they take forever to dry. We let them air dry for 24 hours and then use a hair dryer to finally get them fully dry.
