Santamedical Dual Channel TENS Unit/EMS Unit Electrotherapy Pain Relief Device

The SantaMedical TEM-210 is an outstanding Medical Device. Decided to give this a try after four Omron TENS unit failures and no response from Omron customer service. The difference between the SantaMedical TEM-210 and the Omron PM-3032 ProMax is unbelievable. With the TEM-210 the various modes are much more soothing; the pulse changes in intensity and frequency to produce super pain relief within about few minutes (Not so with the Omron 3032 ProMax) The TEM-210 also has an adjustable timer ( 5 minutes to 60 minutes) with no resetting necessary. The electrode wires are the standard PIN-Type so a number of non-OEM patches can be used. The Omron TENS Units have a odd-sized snap-type connector to the electrode patch so one is forced to buy the Omron electrodes which are not cheap, nor do the have any of the odd-sized larger patches available; The user is stuck with what Omron makes available. The group of electrode patches included with the TEM-210 are more that adequate for most users; I have tried other after market patches with the TEM-210 However the aftermarket patches are inferior in quality compared to the SantaMedical branded patched. My situation requires the occasional use of a much larger electrode patches which don't last as long as the SantaMedical smaller ones. The adhesive on the SantaMedical patcchs is outstanding; Many many treatments can be made before a light cleaning wipe is necessary; A quick wipe with a wet cotton cloth (like a men's handkerchief) quickly restores the patches to original adhesive condition (unlike the Omron patches I have found to quickly selfdistruct like their TENS units) . I have purchased additional SantaMedical Patches and have learned to group the electrode patches closer together to concentrate the treatment in a particular ares; The patches can be moved after the 60 minuted in order to have maxamized treatment over a wider area. Your imagination is your key to maximizing the usage of this little gem. The TEM-210 is completely safe and quite versatile; And the ''Price Is Right''. I have been using TENS Electrotherapy since 1982 when the TENS was still under development and the price of one of the TENS stimulators was in the $2,800 to $3,500 range. My insurance did cover the TENS at that time. My TENS eventually failed and no parts or repair service was available so I did without for many years.Today most insurance companies do not cover this type of home therapy. Eventually the FDA approved these small over the counter TENS devices with certain restrictions; namely an auto-shutoff and signal intensity had to conform to the FDA standards. After many years of trying several brands and also several replacement untits (at my cost) from the same company with no customer service I discovered the SantaMedical TEM-210. I think SantaMedical did an outstanding job in making this product available to help the people with chronic pan when the medical profession either can't help, won't help or just does not understand what a chronic pain situation can eventually do long term to the hunan mind. I liked both the Santa Medical TEM-210 and the Santa Medical customer service so much that I have purchace another SantaMedical medical device. The second device has also performed flawlsely during the period that I have had it. A final word on SantaMedical customer service. My experience led to a failure in electrical signal output just after the 30 day return policy expired. I contacted SantaMedical customer service explaining my situation and how the unit was behaving. I asked them what my options were and customer service gave an immediate response, like within an hour. They sent a reolacement unit out and it was recieved in two days............. Now, I ask you ''WHY ARE THERE NOT MORE COMPANIES LIKE SANTA MEDICAL who actually values their customers.

The machine works really well! I am very impressed with the machine. But the electrode pads that they send you are awful and cheap and they don’t stick. No matter what you do they do not stick. Very frustrating as the first time I used it was very relieved from pain. But after the first use the pads lost stickiness. I’ve tried everything online to bring back stickiness and it doesn’t work. ! So buy the machine but make sure to buy separate electrode pads and electrode adhesive gel ! Love the machine. Hate the pads. 5 stars for machine. 0 stars for electrode pads !

Upon ordering this item I was a little skeptical of the low price but encouraged by the almost 5 star rating. Overall, I'm glad I made this purchase. I purchased a tens/ems unit from my ortho after shoulder/back surgery a couple years for $600 that finally gave out. Just received this item so time will tell if it holds up but my initial review is that this unit does just as good of a job as the medical grade tens/ems unit. It's lightweight & portable (unlike medical grade units) and seems to have just as much, if not more, electrical stimulation which surprised the heck out of me for such a small unit that runs on 3 AAA batteries. The only complaint I have (maybe not so much as a complaint but something that my other device had that this doesn't) is that you're not able to sync the channels for automatic up/down of the strength so they occur simultaneously and you have to start back at 0 when you switch the modes but that's not a big deal (at least to me). Overall, I would have to say that for the price this unit is a great little trinket if your looking for a shockingly good pain management regimen (yes, pun intended) :). Update: I’ve had this unit for a little over a year and I consider it one of the best investments I’ve ever made! In a years time, using this little gadget at least 3 times a week I’m still running on the same batteries (Duracell lithium so that may explain the longevity). It’s been great for pain relief and has so many different modes in both tens and ems... there’s one for whatever you need at the moment. It’s lightweight, portable, and can be easily hidden beneath clothing for those days when you really need it at the office or on the run or whatever. I revise my original statement and say there’s absolutely nothing I don’t like about this unit, it’s been a godsend for pain relief.

The unit wouldn’t run for more than a few seconds and then cut off. After a few attempts at using other modes I gave up and threw it away. Would give it a ZERO rating if I could.

I bought this specifically for pain management during labor. The machine worked great and was fairly easy to set up. Just put batteries in and determine the setting you want. The intensity levels have enough options to be accessible for many people. There are a few features that were lacking: 1. The display is not backlight making it hard to use at night/in the dark. 2. The operation is a bit clunky. Probably not a big deal if you aren't trying to turn it on and off in a big hurry (like during a contraction). 3. I wish there was a strap or clip to attach the machine to you. It was hard to hold the wires and control.

I returned this because I have bought it once and really liked it

So this is my 4th Tens unit. 1st 2 units were by Omron.. those machines are good intoductory units but was too pricey for what they can do. My 3rd unit was iReliev-iRenew, and I loved it. There were a few small issues with it. 1st. is that it is Little confusing learning how to operate it, however once you get the hang of it there are no issues. 2nd, I like the idea of the belt clip holder, however it could be Vastly improved. I can not tell you how many time I dropped my unit because the clip fell off. Eventually the plastic clip broke off the holder. A better option would be a spring clip that can be attached to your clothing or a lanyard necklace in case you dont have a place to clip the unit. Not so much an issue for men but is for women in dresses. 3rd I found after a while of continous use the unit was not powerful enough for my needs. 4th it would be great to be able to combine the TENS and the EMS programs into one program. 5th the cost of the unit is pricey at $79.00 for these shortcommings. Even though it comes with more Electro pads. So I guess you might be wondering why I purchased this SantaMedical unit and that is because I loaned out my machine to someone in pain and I never got the machine back. Because of my experience with the iReliev-iRnew unit, I felt that it was a great unit but not worth the cost because of the shortcomings listed above. So I scoured Amazon and found this unit by Santa Medical. Compared the specs (that I could find) and reviews with the iReliev-iRenew unit. From what I found it looked like the SantaMedical dual Tens/EMS unit was the same unit as iReliev-iRenew but a different color and half the price. Just a couple of aesthetic differences and a couple of less electropoads . Which if I am correct this SantaMedical Dual Chanel EMS/TENS unit as the best value out there. Now that I have shared my backstory I will let you know the shortcomings I have found with the SantaMed Dual chanel TENS/EMS unit.... 1st, the Pads that they send in the Santa Medical are not as adheivsive to the skin as some others that I have used. So I guess it is good that they only send 4 pads. 2nd, when you change programs in mid treatment everything sets back to "0". In other words you need to reset to proper intensity level and the proper time of treatment. This can become confusing, if you are not thinking, and therefore a little frustrating. 3rd. The instruction manual has MANY sortcommings. The print is VERY small, there are typos and grammar errors, which all makes it difficult to read. The directions and info on the programs, as well as the Specs of the unit is difficult to navigate or find. Lastly it would be helpful for both you and iReliev to address electropad gel usage and how it affects the treatment and the pads. 4th - no belt clip included, since the previous belt clip left something to be desired I have not missed that it is not included Now that I have received and used the unit for a few days, I noticed that some of the info on Amazon about the Santa Medical is incorrect It states that the intensity level reaches 20... this is incorrect. The actual intensity goes to 25. Which is what iReliev max is at as well. And both of the units power are 80 Ma. But it is only mentioned by iReliev. So I guess you want to know what I think, This is the best Dual channel TENS/EMS unit value. Santa Med if you are reading this. You should find away to have the ability to attach a lanyard necklace to the device for easier portability. And fix the issue of the intensity reset when you change programs. Fix your Manual and include the descriptions of the programs and what pain issues they address. If they were to fix one of these issues, it would set this unit above iReliev's unit. Otherwise they are about even, but SantaMedicals dual channel TENS/EMS unit edges out iReliev-iRenew ONLY because of the price point. P.S. I actually like that both of the units runs on AAA batteries instead of rechargeable batteries, because it can always be used when you need it, instead of having to wait for it to recharge, you just change the batteries and your back in pain free business.. P.P.S I purchased my unit and did not get anything in return of this review.

If you're looking at this and on the fence - just buy it already! This is the best out there, it is more reliable and effective and their are much more expensive ones out there are aren't worth the extra money at all! I lost this unit a few years back and was about to take a 14 hour flight! I ordered another one from Santa, it was promptly delivered and it made my flight, and subsequent vacation much more enjoyable. I like its ease of use, small size using easily found and replaceable batteries. I also appreciate being about to stimulate muscles for improved health, not just pain relief.
