I had a bad crawl space smell coming through the ducts. The house is almost 40 years old and I had left things in the crawl space like books and old clothes for years that I'm sure didn't help. We live in British Columbia where it's rainy all winter, probably made it worse. Anyway, I purchased two Airtran fans, one as an intake and the other outflow. The installation was fairly simple but I admit I got my young son down there to do it because I never would have been able to do it right. He placed them where the original screens the builder had installed on each side of the house for crawl space airflow. For the most part they fit nicely, I think the problem my son encountered had more to do with where the builder placed the screens and a 2x4 that was in the way so he had to do a minor modification that I think most men who are handy wouldn't see as a big issue. We completely cleaned out and shop vac'd the crawl space and then sprayed it with Odoban first using one of those outdoor sprayers you use for spraying trees. We left some extra house fans down there for about a week get the air really flowing. The smell is completely gone, I'm so happy because I'd had two separate companies come visit and quoted me $3k-$15k to remediate the crawlspace. This cost me around $400 including the Odoban that I got at the hardware store. The floor of the crawl space is concrete not dirt. Hope this helps someone, I saved a lot of money with this solution.

Other than my package was delivered in wrong address Lucky I found it and got it before the home owner found it. I'm happy with my purchase. My garage is so hot over 100 degrees in summer here in vegas, After I installed this fan it's lower down the heat and humidity in my garage. Only thing is I have to figure out how to reverse the fan which they don't have instructions in the manual.

I somehow managed to order the intake model of this fan instead of the exhaust model but it was easy to reverse the flow following the instructions in the manual for the single fan T3/T7 models. Simply remove 4 screws in the four corners of each fan on the backside to remove the mounting plate and 4 more from the corners of each fan on the front face to free the fans and flip them over. In doing so I noticed a small battery like a CR2032 on the circuit board which allows the fan to keep the settings when it is not connected to power. So it can be programmed before you get in a crawl space to install it. It came with 4 machine screws and 4 wood screws with screw anchors but if mounting in a standard cement block opening you need a masonry bit and probably concrete screws. The really nice feature is the phone app that controls via bluetooth or wifi which is easier to program the fan than pushing buttons on the fan and allows additional programming features like timers. It also provides a graph of the humidity and temperature readings so you can see how it is working. However the instructions for connecting the app to the device were out of date. It was necessary to choose add device then select SMART HVAC and then select AIRTITAN. Customer service was good at answering questions before I ordered and after the purchase.
