I am using them to keep flies out and cats in.

I do like these screens they fit in the sash windows well and expand and contract smoothly. U suppose they are modified for the current times as they are not as sturdy as the old fashioned wood framed and stainless steel mesh screens I have previously used manufactured in the US.These are made in China.That said, they do the job, but I expect that the fiberglass mesh won't have any remarkable longevity. I have concerns that the mesh will degrade and weaken from hot summer weather and increased UV from climate change.Of greater concern, and not in the listing that I noticed, are child safety warning stickers on the frames which include the additional line 'This product contains a chemical known to the state of California to cause cancer'. The official list of chemicals known to cause cancer published by the state of California under Proposition 65 legislation is tediously lengthy. Without any actual chemical listed on the product or the heavy paper label with installation instructions, it's impossible to know what the chemical is. My best guess is that the unhealthy chemical has something to do with the fiberglass screen material. If I had children or cats I would not use these screens.

Having indoor cats but wanting fresh air, I used these screens for a totally different window type than designed for and I have to say, worked waaaay better than I thought it might! I attached four magnet strips (bought separately) one in each corner of the screen frame, and corresponding metal strips on the window frame, so it takes seconds to throw the window open and attach the extended screen.The screen mesh is double thickness for a lot of the window due to the extendable design, this would obviously vary depending on your window height but it means double the defence against the kitties murder mittens, although I have to say after an initial look they don’t seem bothered about them and are just enjoying the fresh air.I superglued the magnets on the screen frame as wasn’t completely flat surface but used the sticky pads that came with the magnet pack for the window frames. Seem to be holding up perfectly and means I can remove the metal plates on the window frames without damage.These are not cheap but after several failed attempts with other net-type window products they absolutely do what I wanted so are priceless. I’ve just ordered 2 more!

Like everything about it. It came well packaged with no bends or dents. It was very easy to install. My regular screen had been damaged and I was unable to get an exact replacement. This one fit my needs perfectly; we live in La and need this when its hot but not hot enough for the AC. It keeps out bugs and such and is just great. It is very sturdy and should last a long time. Love it!

I liked that the window screens were well made and sturdy and have the felt liner along the outer edges of the screen. It is delivered with the screen ready to be used in the horizontal position. I really like the physical (paper) instructions that come with the screens. Technically, I am using the screen in the horizontal position (where the screens can be elongated) to fit vertically into my window.

Great item. Versatile and a good large size.
