Whiskypedia: A Compendium of Scotch Whisky Review: lots of info - This is a great compendium of information on Scottish single malt whisky. The flavor map seems to be useful, until one realizes that each direction describes two dimensions. Hmmm The histories of the industry and exploration of flavor parameters are entertaining. Folks have different palates, so there will always be differences of opinion. I think it is a good investment for any Scotch collector. Review: Interesting Book - Great book by a knowledgeable author! Full of good information about many of Scotland's best distilleries.

Very Informative
Brief introductions to virtually every distillery you've ever heard of. Offers basic info on water sources, distillery equipment and processes, sources of ingredients, and so on. More than just a reference or technical volume, you also get a concise history of each producer, (including chain of ownership/management), a winking review of their marketing baloney, and perceptive analyses of their various house styles. A very satisfactory and entertaining volume.

Great for learning how to taste
Tasting is skill that needs to be developed and practiced. This book helps you think about tasting differently and is a good wingman during a tasting session.

read and reread
Even if already well out of date. He was a master of whisky. This has a well of information, and encouragement to try a wee dram, and another different one.

Great book overall
Overall I really loved this book I take it with me to the liquor store to help me pick out good whiskys on occasion. However the 1 huge flaw in this books is that they do not accurately describe the taste of the different variations of the same whisky makers. For example Spring bank 10 14 and 17 are all different but this books only has 1 description.

Item destroyed The book is awesome. But was shipped it in a box with a 5-6kg socket set and a boxed 2kg Tintin bookset. The book wasn’t protected at all. I'll leave the rest to your imagination
