Q: Is this dog food made in the USA?

Yes. Wellness, under the umbrella of Wellpet LLC, uses two manufactures for their food, and I couldn't find specifically whether Diamond or Berwind manufactures Wellness Core or at what location. The label states "Made in USA."

Q: We're adopting our first dog. He's a 10 pound dog. 26 pounds of food is a lot--how would I keep it fresh over time? Does it get stale?

The bag does have a zip lock on it but I don't know how well it works. I bought the 60-69 quart IRIS Airtight Pet Food Storage Container that holds an entire bag, which keeps the food fresh. I use one bag month so I don't know how long it would stay fresh even in the container. I've been using Core for a couple of years. I believe it keeps their weight where it should be and their teeth clean. I also mix in a tablespoon of Wellness Grain-Free Canned Dog Food to enhance the flavor of the meal. My dogs weight around 15 pounds each. I feed a half cup with a tablespoon of canned in the morning and half cup in the evening.

Q: How long would one bag last for an adult lab (70lbs+) ?

A kibble this size should give 4 cups for every pound of food. You can check the bag's chart, above, for the exact amount of food for your 70# lab. I give our 83# Greyhound, Aslan, 2 cups in the morning and 2 cups in evening. This 24# bag lasts 24 days. I've just started adding enough warm water, to stir to make a soupy gravy... (not to soften kibble, it's to add extra fluids for him, release the scent and flavor and to prevent choking. He LOVES his food like this.) I also add a small handfull of raw freeze dried beef liver as a topper. Aslans ears perk up when he sees what's coming... then the helicopter tail revs up, high speed, round and round, til he dives into his bowl , eats every morsel and licks his bowl clean. Aslan LOVES his Wellness Core with Wholesome Grains. And I love the nutrition with extra taurine. He looks gorgeous, healthy, energetic and happy !

Q: Aloha everyone..i am thinking of changing from blue buffalo to wllness core..any suggestions?

Hi, I have a Golden Retriever who was having stomach and stool issues until I changed her to the Wellness Core about a year and a half ago. No problems since. She eats the food with no hesitation.
