I have had this shoulder rest for awhile. I meant to write a review as soon as I got it, but that made no sense. I decided to wait and see how well the rest held up, and how comfortable I would be while playing with it. I travel and practice often and this rest has been a sturdy little thing so far. Very adjustable, and the hinges make certain it accommodates to your preferred stance. For me, I hold my violin at a little tilt that's a tad higher than normal position, and the rest adjusts accordingly.I often have terrible neck pain from practicing 5+ hours, which is why I decided to try a shoulder rest. I had one before this but it was a dinky thing. I find this shoulder rest perfect for alleviating strain and neck fatigue. It is aesthetically pleasing on the violin and I've received a few compliments.I did have trouble figuring out how to adjust the height of the rest and the company was very helpful. For anyone who may run into the same problem, height can be adjusted by turning the rest legs. They swivel up and down on screws. Length can be adjusted by shifting the brackets holding the legs down.In conclusion, this shoulder rest was a hit for me. I understand these things are subjective and another customer may not have the same experience. Regardless, I encourage you to try this rest before any other because it is well made, highly adjustable and pleasing to look at. Most of all, it is comfortable, which is the main priority for a shoulder rest.

Shoulder Rest By 9th Chord Folks This Violin Rest Is Beautiful And It WORKS. The maple wood is so nice i really like that it does not have that super high gloss. The feet offer total protection from damaging the violin. The legs are reversible (one leg has longer stud). The legs have 4 position on one side and three on the other. Compared to some of the plastic one's that are way to big. The brass is a nice touch and beats plastic all day long. The.9th Chord shoulder rest is high end at a reasonable price. Comes with a real nice Carry Bag with draw string. Adjustable Width, Height And Angle. Very highly recommend.

About the Ninth Chord shoulder rest, I sing your praise! Aesthetically, it's absolutely gorgeous, from the beautiful wood tone, to the brass fittings and style, it's just beautiful. Functionally, it is also a huge improvement over the standard popular rests. The adjustable height is excellent, the way it moves and fits the violin was also exciting to me. I had just purchased the Yamaha Yev electric violin, which features a thin wooden soundboard, so I was taking a chance on the fit. The adjustable holes tweeked the width-fit perfectly, further enhanced by the solid rubber feet, which are of high quality and substantial thickness. It grips better than any shoulder rest I've used on both my standard classical violin and the electric Yev violin. (And I've tried most everything). So my gratitude is great. I thank you, and look forward to your viola rest! Highly recommend.

Attractive, easy fit and adjustment, comfortable.
This shoulder rest is attractive, easy to put on, take off, and adjust. The padded feet don't scratch my violin and it's very comfortable on my shoulder. It comes with a very nice carry bag.

In this case you get what you pay for. Sure it's a little more, but it's noticeably higher quality. I was able to adjust it for a secure fit. The legs and feet are fit tight with a rubberized, protective coating to keep from marring the finish of my instrument. The shipping was quick and they even followed up with an email to ensure my satisfaction. I would, and probably will, purchase from this company in the future.
