David Horowitz not only writes very well but he also documents facts which support his argument. It describes the difference and benefits of free-market capitalism and accurately describes the negative outcomes one would experience (as many have throughout world history) of socialism, Marxism and communism. I chose freedom with clear eyes and determined, disciplined thought.

Wikipedia defines totalitarian as “…a concept used in academia and in politics to describe a form of government and political system that prohibits all opposition parties, outlaws individual opposition to the state and its claims, and exercises an extremely high degree of control over public and private life.” While America is not all the way down the road on the definition, there are glaring similarities between Wikipedia’s definition and events taking place in our country today.Author David Horowitz addresses the political movement that has been present for years (even decades in some areas) and outlines the imminent dangers. While I was familiar with many of the incidents and people he talks of, it is always good to be reminded of what you know as well as gain new knowledge. One of the most interesting things I learned was that a person can say just about anything about another person, even if it is a brazen lie, and the courts have decided that this is difficult to be termed as defamation of character or slander as the courts have ruled that this is okay because it is freedom of speech. I thought this was important because untruths are spoken daily, repeated by others as fact, and the next thing you know, whatever was said is regarded as gospel and written in stone.I usually prefer to read a book where the name-calling is at a minimum or non-existent. However, the people featured on the book cover (and many others) manage to get my blood moving, and I am sure the same happened to the author many times while writing this book. Thus, liberals who disagree with the premise of this book may get hung up on the name-calling rather than focus on the facts. Mr. Horowitz presents enough footnotes and links to keep the most diligent doubter busy for at least a year. If you disagree with his words, check out the NOTES section and read the facts as presented by the original sources, many of them from places that could hardly be considered conservative. A must-read for everyone. Five stars.

I love the author but didn't have time to order and read this book.

The book is excellent and accurate. Currently watching the events being played out on the world stage. Unfortunately, most of America has been so dumbed down and bullied into submission that they have no idea what will happen to them if they don't wake soon. Hard to reach people who's intelligence goes as far as their iPhone. I miss the warriors of past America who established a nation, eliminated slavery, and fought and won two world wars. Beginning with Nam, we have allowed the weak and the Godless to rule and it is killing our souls and our country. When even Viktor Bout knows why we are dying (Americans forgot their God and they forgot they were the shinning city on the hill), we have a problem and it's not being fixed with the current bunch in office. Excellent book.

This is a Must-Have for everyone concerned about Our Country. The price was lower than Barns and Noble. And Shipping really Fast.Could not put this book down. Finished in No-Time! Highly Recommend Reading it

This book tells you what has been going on since 2008 and up until the present time. It tells the truth and I recommend everyone should read it.

The world faces a diabolical enemy. God help us all. Well worth spending a few hours with this enlightening book.

For those looking for an authoritative behind the scenes perspective on the Zero Sum political game being played out by extreme Leftists, The Enemy Within is without a doubt one of the best currently available. Horowitz has been warning us for decades, but those warnings seemed to have fallen on deaf ears. This new appendage to his anthology is as much a lament, as it is another timely warning, from a man, whose experience as a leftist gives the kind of insight rarely spoken in public. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.
