KorgmicroKEY2-49 USB MIDI Controller - 49 Key - Black

打ち込み用途で随分前に買ったmicroKEY2-25（有線）ではいい加減演奏的に欲求不満だった為、使い勝手を考えてAirの61鍵を購入。「正常に接続されてさえいれば」採用規格で延滞などは心配いらないので、microKEY慣れやコンパクトな設置サイズもあって快適に扱えている。Bluetooth接続が売りではあるが、付属のUSBケーブルにて従来の有線接続が可能。また「microKEY Air/KORG KONTROL Editor」というMac/PC用App（要DL）を使う事で、仔細なキータッチコンフィグが可能となる。因みにMac用の「microKEY Air/KORG USB-MIDI Driver」（2019.02.21版）が公開されている。表向きは他の製品対応との事だが、保険に入れておいた方がいいだろう。付属のUSBケーブルはMacBook系の様な目前で使うには足りる長さだが、据え置きPCと接続を見越すならもう少し余裕ある長さのケーブルを追加購入した方がいい（iOSデバイス接続に必要なLightningケーブルは付属せず）。Mac/Win用の各種音源やDAWライト版、レッスン優待クーポン等、多様なバンドルソフトDL用のコードが同梱。それぞれユーザー登録が必要だったり64bit対応できていなかったりと、そこそこの手間が生じるので（既にDAW導入しているなら）インストールは精査した方が吉。尚、Androidデバイスでの使用は想定されていない（個人的に未検証）。以下仕様。サイズ：850×139×54mm、重量：1.7kg、Bluetooth4.0（Apple Bluetooth Low Energy MIDI規格準拠）、ワイヤレス入力持続時間：アルカリ単三電池×2で約30時間（有線時はバス給電）。本体以外の付属品は、USBケーブル（片側B端子）、バンドルソフトDL用コード、単三電池×2、取り扱い説明書。【ベロシティ調整】買ったばかりで接続すると音量が不足してしまう。これを解消するには「microKEY Air/KORG KONTROL Editor」でベロシティ調整を行う必要がある。「microKEY Air/KORG KONTROL Editor」を起動させ本機を認識させる。その後、メニューの「編集」から「環境設定」を選ぶ。「MIDIポート」欄を「MIDI IN → microKEY2 Air - KEYBOAD」「MIDI OUT → microKEY2 Air - CTRL」とする。本機イラストが描かれた画面の左下タブの右側「CONTROL」で「Keyboard」を選び、そこにある「Velocity Curve」を「Const Velocity」に（演奏時は「Velocity Curve」の8段階から調整する事）。下の「Const Velocity Value」を100程にする（状況によっては最大値の127）。済んだらメニューの「転送」で「シーン・データの書き込み」を必ず行う（これをしないと本機に反映されないので注意）。【ワイヤレス接続手段】Bluetooth接続にはiOSは「BLE-MIDI」Macでは「Bluetooth.MIDI.Connect」それぞれのコネクトAppを使う（どちらもKORG謹製というよりOS設定アシスト程度の作り：リスト登録台数4台まで）。WindowsはAppを使わず「microKEY Air/KORG USB-MIDI Driver」をDL→インストールした後は、普通のBluetooth機器登録と同等。デバイス問わず、一度登録してしまえば「本機の電源オン→コネクトAppにて接続→終了時は本機の電源オフ」が基本となる（本機電源を入れたまま別デバイスで使う場合はコネクトApp上で解除する必要あり：面倒なら本機電源入れ直し）。残念ながら、ペアリング後に電源オンオフだけで認識する昨今のBluetoothスピーカーの様な手軽さはない。【不具合の正体】「有線接続では全く不具合はない」。MacBook・MacBook Pro・iPhone X・iPad Proとのワイヤレス接続も問題無し。だが問題を生じたのは、一番使いたい場所にある固定設置の「Mac mini 2018数台」だった。そして判明した原因はMac mini 2018自体ではなく、OSのバージョンでもスペックでも無かった。言うなれば「設置場所」が起因する不具合。有りがちにUSB3.0機器（ストレージやハブや充電器の類から伸びるケーブル：特に充電ハブ付近が最悪）の坩堝で使っていたせいである（別部屋のMac mini 2014では接続不具合無し）。USB3.0の配電圧は2.4GHz帯に干渉してしまう為、本機が採用してるBluetooth4.0（Apple Bluetooth Low Energy MIDI）に多大な影響を及ぼしてしまう（本機に限った不具合ではない）。これら不具合は眼前使用（ほぼゼロ距離）なMacBook系やiMacよりも、やや距離を置いて使うMac mini系で目立ちやすい（筐体内でUSBスロットとBluetooth部の距離が近い事も影響）。試しに干渉が無い場所で試すと、Mac mini 2018も何支障無く接続できた。とは言え、本機をワイヤレスで使いたかった場所は元のUSB3.0谷。部屋の配置改革ができる日まで、暫く有線で我慢する事にした（尚、設定しているのにApple Watchでのロック解除がされない・Magic Trackpad＆Magic Trackpadで不具合が起こる等がUSB3.0被害の目安になる：余談だが静電気タタキでの掃除も誤動作要因なので注意）。【対処法】上記の際、諸々施策して得たワイヤレス接続不具合回復方法を参考までに記載する。一連のコネクト作業中、干渉被害で接続失敗すると本機が接続状態（ランプ点滅→点灯）になる事がある。電源入れ直し後に再コネクトをかけてもいいが、状況次第では電源オン後もリスト認識、または接続されなくなってしまう（どうやら本体側にも認識用の一時メモリがあり、不具合時のアドレスを記憶しているせい）。これを解消するには「PC側のBluetooth登録リストから本機を削除」「本機の電池を外して戻す」で正常回復する。後は前述の基本コネクト工程で問題ないが、その間に干渉被害にあうと回復作業が必要になる。すんなり正常接続したり一連の工程に慣れれば問題ないが、思い描いた接続フットワークには残念ながら遠かった。【そして過渡期】本機が発売したのが2015年であり、世は既にBluetooth5に移行しつつある。言うまでもなくmicroKEYシリーズ刷新時期が近いと見てよい（先日KORG Gadgetも2となったし）。新型はBluetooth5は勿論、接続はUSB-TypeCになる可能性があり、やもすると乾電池駆動を捨てバッテリーを搭載する機体も出てくるかもしれない。現行機を「割り切り購入」するならば、使用場所のUSB3.0環境見直しが必須となるだろう（USB充電ハブのコンセントを抜くだけでもだいぶ変わる）。

I have a number of software synths on my iPad but until I bought this I had no real way of playing them properly (read, messing about with them!). This was designed to pair with iOS devices, and it does so perfectly. You'll hear and read about people going on about latency, and that's right, it's a thing. But, what most people with latency issues do is make the mistake of also having the speaker be wireless. That's too much. If you have this keyboard connected using Bluetooth LE, and then either use the speakers in the ipad or plug directly into the aux input on some speakers, you'll experience pretty much negligible latency. Is there any at all? Sure, a tiny bit, but I'm not a high-speed concert pianist, and for 99% of people it will be imperceptible. There are plenty of YouTube videos of people playing this fast and it keeping up.They keys themselves, while small, or perfectly playable, and the unit itself is sturdy enough, even on your lap. I got the 61 key version which is quite long, but also the best value for money in my opinion. Even then it's still good in the lap, but if you don't need or want that many octaves, you can save money and get less. You can still use the octave up and down buttons to go up and down the scales.Batteries on this last ages, but you can connect via USB to both power it and completely eliminate any latency whatsoever. Best of all worlds.

When trying to Fully Install the Windows 10 Driver it stopped being recognised - and I then found out that many Windows 10 Users have had problems including those who had it working on earlier versions of Windows 10. It is also NOT directly compatable with IOS 13, and most new iPads are on that or IOS 14 with IOS 15 coming soon. The instructions for updating the Firmware did NOT work. Korg says IOS 14 is 'under investigation'. No idea about IOS 15. Since this is marketed as a Wireless Compact Keyboard mostly for iPad Users (Other Users would probably use USB) this really should be withdrawn from sale or otherwise have these problems massively highlighted prior to customers making a decision to purchase. Unfortunately KORG seem to be treating it as an 'abandoned product' by NOT providing solution updates in a timely fashion. The internet is awash with complaints if you look in the right 'tekkie' places. This is also another potential story of how when Apple updates IOS it may break previously working products!UPDATE:Replaced with iRig Keys 2 which I am happy with apart from it disables the iPad speakers when the lightening cable is plugged in. So I have to use headphones or wired speakers plugged into the headphone out of the iRig Keys 2. This does NOT provide Bluetooth connectivity, alas.

I've had to return this as Korg are making a mess of trying to patch in updates to make this work with iOS13. As a result of the botched updates, the keyboard wouldn't work at all, with or without bluetooth. I really hope to be able to buy it again in the future, because the keys and controls are fantastic. Until it comes with proper software, however, I don't want to waste any more time setting it up to no avail.

I teach piano online and I thought it's good for teaching online as well as practising the piano. However, it needs quite more accessories such as cable to connect with PC, or need to buy new cable/adapter for connecting with the phone. It doesn't have any sound on it and needs software to have sound. Moreover, because it's portable so the key is smaller than the normal piano. With me, it's too small to play any song, and I think it will take a long time to familiar with this one, so I return. Lastly, the sound depends on the software you use, even I used Korg software, but sound not like the built-in sound piano. So I decided to return because it not fix my aim. However, if for producer, it might be good, I think.
