My First Kilt – Love It!!!
I moved to a small community with strong Scottish heritage. Not being a Scot myself, I want to participate but also respect the culture. I selected Black Watch; an open plaid vs. a plaid associated with background/clan/family heritage.I decided to spend a bit more (this isn’t near the lowest price kilt) based on the concept of “pay more get more” and being generally happier with an investment in quality. But not formal, still utility (formal is BIG investment). Reading the reviews, I also noted that many of the reviewers of DSS kilts were repeat customers, and I took this as a strong factor as going back to the same source multiple times is indicative of value and quality. A friend (that knows more) agreed that this kilt has some nice details and was worth the extra investment.Sizing; I wear a 29 pants size. While I measured here and ordered a 32 (based on measurement), I also measured where I wear my pants and realize 29 isn’t my size anyway. Fits perfectly. I am 5’9” and length is perfect for me also.I cannot wait to have an event to show up showing off my new kilt!!!

Great purchase if you don't mind dry cleaning.
The listing says that these are made of a machine-washable material. It is 100% cotton jean material with 13 oz acrylic tartan wool (80% acrylic, 20% wool) for the blocked insets. The material clearly matches the description. These are great quality. I'm very pleased with that.The tags clearly state dry clean only. That's my one gripe. I wanted machine-washable for convenience, but if they are not, that's very inconvenient and not what I thought I had ordered. I'm contacting the seller on this point for a clarification.Also, whether or not it matters to anyone, these are labeled as made in Pakistan. I know that I've had really great quality items that were made in Pakistan before, so the quality is not surprising. I love the look and fit, but these need to be machine-washable or quite durable to be worth the purchase, in my opinion.Whether they are machine-washable or not, I will be washing them in my machine on a gentle cycle and hanging them to dry. At the great price point, if they last a year, that's good enough to consider the cost worth it. We'll see.Purchased 3 colors/styles in a size 36.

Little big, but great quality.
Great material and look. I measured 44 and bought a 44, but it's quite large. Returning and going with a 40 this time.
