How is the reversing camera powered and switched into reversing mode?

The reversing camera needs to be powered from a 12V feed that would need to be accessed somewhere near to where the camera is mounted. The camera comes with an app that is installed on the sat nav and you simply switch from the navi view to the camera app view whenever you are parking or reversing etc

Yes it does but please note that you need to pair it with a smart phone or iPhone to get live digital traffic information.

I believe Android 12 is the current version - why does this unit have Android 5.1 released 2015?

Android is simply used as the operating system and the version is actually irrelevant to the functionality of the unit. Different sat navs, use different OS, from Windows, to Android and so on. This isn't a tablet or phone, Android is simply used to power the navigation and dash cam software.
