All trails around here are loose rocks over dry, hardpacked dirt and it gets warm in the summer (80F+). These are perfect for this. Light enough to be worn under a shirt and comfortable enough that I just forget I am wearing them. They breathe enough that even in the hottest day, it is not a problem. Today I went over the handlebars and landed on my forearms. My shirt is torn, but not a scratch on my arms. They did harden up on impact so that it protected well enough from small rocks. Glad I was wearing them.

Simple ease of use works as needed hope to never try it out.

I got the whole Stage Ghost kit and love it. My only issue with the elbow sleeves is that the top (bicep) is loose compared to the forearm. Unless you have huge biceps, i guess. I wish there was a provision to connect the sleeve to the Ghost shirt to hold them up, as they tend to creep down a bit. I just have to pull them up once or twice during a ride.

Funny but I actually got 1 as in single protector from the Salvage Army awhile back. Liked it so much I brought a new pair. I’m average build 5’6” 140# . So I brought the small. Too small for my liking. It fit on the snug side. The single one I originally had was looser on the upper arm and a little less on the wrists which I liked.Anyways I returned the Small with no hassle and ordered the Medium. Perfect for me! Snug enough not to slid/slip around. The wrist end easily goes over my Apple Watch Ultra w/o discomfort. The upper arm also is snug enough, for me just right.They weren’t able to do an exchange but now worries.The new ones I just brought havev a little thicker D3O pad, so bonus for me!These are perfect for for everyday use. Light and thin enough for summer use w/o being too /overly hot. They seem durable based on the old single one I had.

I do most of my biking in Colorado where the summers get well in to the 90s and with straight sun the feels like definitely exceeds the 100s. After a gnarly crash I used to try to ride with a full jacket protector but anything past 80 was way too hot for it. I swapped it out for these elbow protectors and while it doesn't offer nearly as much protection, the best protection is the one you're wearing.I honestly forget that they're even on they're so lightweight and breathable, I also tend to wear them UNDER a sun shirt. I've rode some 20 mile rides with over 3400' elevation gain and was never bothered by them. I can't attest to how they would do in a crash but I have dropped in to a plank position from a standing position on concrete just to test them and barely felt anything. I think they'd be up to the task in a real world situation!

I have used these sleeves for over a year. I wish I could comment on their protection but I am lucky enough to have not wrecked to test this. They are comfortable to wear and are relatively cool as they have a lot of mesh on the inside of the arm. If there is any breeze, they actually are cool due to sweat evaporation. They are warm if the temperature is over 85 and there is no breeze, yet it does not stop me from using them at all. The only reason I give them 4 stars instead of five is that the elastic bands on the ends quickly wear out and become useless and unsightly. However, this does not affect the sleeves at all as the entire sleeve is elastic enough to keep these on without any slippage. I have never experienced any slippage with these sleeves at all.

Pros:1. Padding is curved to fit elbow.2. Comfortable when riding, I forget they are on.3. Not as hot as other brands.4. Stay-put strip at top of elbow doesn't irritate my skin like other brands (e.g., G-force).5. Price is low for D30 pads.Cons:1. For some reason vendors kept shipping me the wrong items--first kneepads, then XXL instead of M. Eventually I got the right ones. Perhaps this was a one-off issue.

I've used other elbow guards but found them to be bulky and hard to keep in place. This fits like a sleeve and stays in place. It's comfortable, protects against the worst rocks and trees, and is great quality... Which this company always provides.
