upgraded after my last HP wore out.
my last HP printer was the 4650, and i loved it. when it finally wore out and it was time to get a new one, i knew i wanted an HP product. in talking to the reprehensive at HP, he recommended the 8135E. it has a very appealing design and fits well in my office. i have two things that i have to say about it that i do not like. it has 4 ink cartridges (instead of the 2 on my 4650) and they run out of ink very quickly. this would defiantly be a negetive if i was not a HP Instant Ink customer. secondly, it has very cheaply made parts (the quality of the plastic parts). with full cartridges, it prints beautifully.

2nd time Around
The first one must have been a lemon as it lasted less than 3 months! I bought the same one again as I had all These print cartridges! This one is working great

That it is a quality printer.
The printer operates fine, however, if I had it to do over I would have purchased a different one that was more expensive with better body quality. The paper tray, the top feeder, and the entire machine is made of very "flimsy" plastic and not good quality materials.

Great Printer
I don't know what some of these people who gave this printer a bad review are smoking. This had to be the easiest printer I have ever set up. I was actually pretty amazed how every pc in my house was a able to see the printer and print to it, including everyone's phones; 3 Android and 1 iPhone. The prints are perfectly acceptable for what I do. I did notice some horizontal lines when I printed a full page photo but I'm sure I can get that taken care of. The scanner works great too. It was very easy to use and the scans look great.

This printer has been awesome for nursing school
I need to print a lot of papers for nursing school and this printer has yet to fail me, and I have had it for about a year. When my ink gets low HP automatically sends me more before I run out which felt a little odd at first, but I am OK with now. I can print, scan, and copy with out a problem. I would like a larger capacity paper tray but that's a minor inconvenience.

HIghway Robbery-You Rent not buy!
If I could leave a negative 5 star review, I would, but not for the printer exactly, but for the company. HP. In effect, if you buy this, you are renting this machine. Why? They charge you for HOW MANY PAGES YOU PRINT.But that is not all- they control how and when it will print- you must be on the internet( see photo) in order to print. You can't print unless your account is paid up- and they charge you by the PLAN- how many pages you print per month. The way they do this is by offering you ink in the mail. The number of ways they get you is incredible. For example, they mail you free ink in the beginning- and then they keep mailing it to you, if you don't cancel your subscription. But if you do cancel, your printer won't work. And they know that you are busy and may not cancel the subscription. However, if you do cancel teh subscription, your printer will refuse to print. See below. This is extortion! Ok, in order to give this review credence, I will have to slow down and say, that all details will be forthcoming. The printer works fine- until it doesn't. It throws off error messages a lot- if you dont go through certain paths to scan for example, but choose a "shortcut" that they offer: error code. The printer makes reasonably good printouts. But you are not buying this computer. You are renting it. If you want to put third party ink in it, which is what I wanted tt do, then perhaps that will work- IF you can get around their internet control. For example, if you do not have wireless in your house( we turn ours off unless we need it), and print using ethernet, that works just fine. But if I go to copy a book, then the printer says it needs to be connected to the internet. And then it says that I haven't paid my monthly fee. Correct!I cancelled my plan as I wanted tt use third party ink. But it wont let me print anything unless I am paid up. They control what ink you can use- by not letting you use the machine if you aren't paying them per month for the ink.So In effect, you are not buying this machine, you are renting the machine, for a large startup fee, and then you are paying by the page, as per your PLAN. This is corporate control. I don't want it. You shouldn't either. One last thing: If you go over your plan's limit, they charge you 10cents a page- actually one dollar for every set of 10 pages, meaning that if you print 11 pages over your plan, it will be 2 dollars, etc.Ok, these charges aren't so much, but f you print out an e book, over your plan's allotment, get ready for a big fee. One month I paid $100 more! Now you say, well that is for the ink. Really? How much does the ink cost them, or us, for that matter? Not that much- especially if one uses third party inks. I have gone for two years using this machine, paying each month. I am busy, too busy to write this review, but finally I had to say enough is enough. This is HIGHWAY ROBBERY! They certainly did not make that clear when I bought the printer, and signed on for a period of " free" ink. Within a few months of signing up, I got several emails from HP with vague language concerning rules of the PLAN. It was clear they were getting pushback for their opaque advertising strategies in offering the " free" Ink.I rest my case.I will add the photo of the HP printer screen saying that the printer must be connected to the internet in order to print. Really? Why? I ask you.Answer: so that they can determine if you have paid your monthly bill for the " ink". ( It's not for the cost of the ink. Not really.) In effect, have you paid your monthly, rental fee? NO? Well, they count how many pages you print and charge you accordingly. They charge you by the page, and say they are charging you for the ink. But it's really a way to get a monthly rental fee.THis is probably against the law. If you buy something, it should be yours to use as you wish.

Great Printer
I was reluctant to purchased after I read that several people was having problems installing to their computer. I must say I did have some problems installing to my computer but finally my computer located the printer and it has worked well every since.

Great Printer For Home Use
I was looking for one with easy touch screen. This fit what I was looking for. Only difficulty in setting it up was wanting to use normal cartridges instead of the ones sent to set up. When I realize d the normal ones would not work, I sacrificed the start cartridges. I don’t like to use for a few days and have to replace the start up cartridges right away.It serves its purpose and is very quiet. A good addition to my needs.
