Way better than I thought they would be
I was worried they would be a bit on the small side, but I was pleasantly surprised that they fit extremely well. The toe box is bigger than expected, but that isn't a complaint, it gives me room to actually wiggle and stretch my toes, especially after your foot naturally swells from walking. The pouches are functional, which I wasn't expecting, I thought they were purely decorative. And the zipper on the inside of the boot is pretty strong, it even gives you that sexy stripper feeling when you put them on and zip them up.Overall, I highly recommend them, just pay attention to your sizing to make sure you get the best fit.

Very nicely made -Just had a bit of difficulty, knowing what size To order
These boots are very nicely made, and attractive for a steam punk look! I purchased two sizes and the smaller set fit well. They are comfortable to wear and if taking good care of Will last.

LOVE ! These boots!
Facts that may help you since a small and medium were compared:1. Small and medium difference is about a 1/2" in length - BUT calf is 16" in both. ( Size chart saying Small is 15-1/2" is not correct, apparently. I called the company. They had warehouse measure and told me "16"." So I reordered in Small. Small fit me better.2. A Small is a Woman's size 8-1/2". So it is a little long on me, the Medium was dangerously long. Small on me, fits like a custom made boot.3. The pockets on side lay flat if lain on a flat surface. On my leg, however, both the Small and Medium do NOT lay flat. Middle pokes out--- see photo. On one hand though, if these were handmade leather from that era, that could happen in workmanship, so in a way, to me, it makes the boots look more "Period" vs being a negative.3. The pleather fabric is matte look and, I think, unisex. It is strong, but thinner, and will stretch a little, if needed and quickly. So give it a gentle tug, if it looks like you have a gap of a bit, and you may get the zipper up. Wear like a half hour and next time boots fit easily.3. The pleather is light enough weight for hot weather area climate.4. Zipper is strong.5. There isn't any arch support. Grab some Dr. Scholl orthotics on Amazon for around $15, and you can also use in other shoes and boots - and have more freedom to buy low cost cute shoes and boots as well as high cost ones. ( Love those orthotics and mine are still fine two years later and they advertise replacing every 6 months.)6. These boots work for a very high instep Belts on foot are also adjustable.7. Love that I can easily flex my ankles in these!8. Toe box is awesome and huge! If you have thinner calves, you could wear thick socks.9. Some say the soles seem thin. I would say "average." You could probably add a sole at shoe repair.10. Did you buy someone else's "return?" How to tell -My Smalls: arrived with each full boot wrapped in tissue paper, then folded, then inside individual plastic clear bags, then wrapped in more white tissue paper in the box. Lid had a green sticker about "recycling." Toes had tissue paper stuffing. My Mediums: Only tissue paper in box - none around the boots. No bags. No sticker on lid. Had tissue paper in toes.My conclusion? The Mediums were someone's return. When you have questions, call Ellie Shoes directly. They are in Orange County, CA. Very good and polite Customer Service. Rare these days--- Customer Service AT the company, not outside US. You actually can reach a real switchboard!I so love these boots and likely will buy Ellie boots or shoes in the future. I felt like a valued customer. And I like their fun styles. And best thing? Now that I know they make a boot that fits my foot well ( very high instep, high arch, one foot a lot wider than other due to a foot injury, and fit my ex- gymnast calves , I will shop Ellie Shoes first then if needed look other places. But "custom" made boots for around $52? (I applied $16 from Amazon card cash back), these boots were an awesome find and purchase!( I bought for Steampunk look - and these also work for a pirate look, SCA ( Society for Creative Anachronism), ComiCon. And maybe fetish wear (?)

So, I'm 6 foot and 200 lbs and wear a 10.5 shoe
Based on the measurements I trusted that I should order a Medium size. I have seen all of the complaints about the calf being too tight. That was not my experience. They actually fit really well by following the measurements, and I have been told I have big calves. So you other guys must have massive calves. With that said, the price seems kind of high to me for the quality. They really look good right out of the box, but the build is somewhat cheap, and I expect they will wear poorly. So for price and build quality reasons, I'm returning them (even though they fit really well). Price is high, build quality is low, and look is good (out of the box). If you want them to last, don't buy. If you need them for only one event and can dump 75 dollars, then have at it, and follow the measurements.

Decorations are flimsy, I couldn't get them on.
I SO wanted these boots to work. I love their look! Unfortunately I had to return them. I was unable to even get my foot in the boot, either one. I even ordered the next size up of what I thought I should. Something about the angle of the boot at the ankle (I don't know how to describe it), I could not get my foot to slip in. (And yes, I had them unzipped.) And the material is thin vinyl so I felt like was going to rip the boot out if I forced it. I eventually gently got one foot in, and it felt pretty good in the main foot part, but then I could only zip up the boot about half way. Way too small for my calf. The material is thin vinyl. The main part of the boot is multiple layers with something in between, so it's sturdier, but the pouches and stripe decorations are just 1 thin layer and could easily rip or tear off. In fact, as I was packing the boots back up to return, I noticed that one of the rivets had popped out. Again, there isn't much material to hold them. If the rivet popped out with the little handling I did of them, I don't have much hope that the decorations would stay on beyond a few uses.

Unbelievably Happy
I never write a review, but I'm super impressed and really happy. I got these in like 4 hours one, and two they are siiiiick. They fit amazing and so long as they don't break during my event or anything you got a life long customer here. Can't wait to see what else you got :)

Great boots, but not for those with thick calves
Great looking boot and the quality and construction seems solid. Love the little pocket adornments (they seem functional too, but I don't have anything I'd put in there to risk it!). The boot interiors are padded and very comfortable. There are no real insoles, but I prefer that as I buy specific ones for my feet. The only minor issue is that they are rather restrictive around the calves. I skip leg day every day and even I was just barely able to zip the boots up. If you've got large calf muscles, these might not be for you.
