Q: How much weight can it hold?

I don't know exactly how much weight the bag can hold, but it wasn't designed to carry really heavy items. My guess is that if you are toting items heavy enough that you asked the question, this bag probably won't be your best choice. Hope that helps.

It should work as a pool bag. Please note, the bag is water resistant, but the handles are not.

Q: Is the bag zippered on the top?

No zipper. It has a hook and loop tab (like Velcro). It is difficult to see in the photo, because it is black and so is the lining.
