The DuoFern room thermostat (2nd generation) automatically measures and regulates the room temperature of individual rooms, e.g. by controlling a radiator, underfloor heating or air conditioning. The temperature measurement is carried out either via the built-in sensor or via the optional external remote sensor 9485-F. The room thermostat has a potential-free relay output.

Thanks to the integrated DuoFern wireless interface, the wireless room temperature controller allows your underfloor heating to be integrated into the HomePilot® Smart Home. In combination with the DuoFern radiator actuator (2nd generation) 9433-1, a self-sufficient system is possible. Optionally, the measured temperature of the room thermostat can be used to control the radiator actuator (2nd generation).

The DuoFern room thermostat can be used and configured in three different types of heating: room temperature controller, room temperature controller with limiter function, cooling function.
In addition, the DuoFern room thermostat (2nd generation) with the DuoFern radiator actuator (2nd generation) to control it. Via radio, the DuoFern room thermostat can be connected directly to a DuoFern actuator. Connected to one or more valves, this combination thus also allows single room control in the absence of peripherals.

Up to six heating or cooling phases (including four setpoint temperatures) can be set for each day.

The following consumers can be connected to the potential-free relay output: control valves (also low voltage valves), heaters (including electric heaters up to max. 2300 W), air conditioners.

If the internal sensor cannot reliably detect the room temperature, the remote sensor 9485-F is optionally available as an external
Temperature sensor available. This can be useful if:
- The DuoFern room thermostat is mounted in a thermally unfavourable place (e.g. a cool outer wall).
- large loads (e.g. an electric heater), which strongly heat the DuoFern room thermostat (self-heating).

Manual operation is done with the plus and minus buttons. With these buttons, e.g. the set temperature can be adjusted gradually by
0.5 °C.

The DuoFern room thermostat is designed as a flush-mounted device for interiors. The electrical connection is made with the help of terminals on the back of the installation housing.

The DuoFern room thermostat can be integrated into standard switch programs (50 x 50 mm).
Depending on the switch program used, an intermediate frame 50 x 50 (according to DIN 49075) may be required.

The room thermostat is also particularly practical for use in conservatories: because in combination with the HomePilot®, temperature-dependent shading can be realized. If, for example, a certain temperature is detected via the thermostat in summer and sent to the HomePilot, this triggers a preset scene: for example, the curtain blinds automatically shade the conservatory so that it does not heat up further by the sunlight.
