La Crosse Technology Atomic Wall/Table Clock, Metal, 7.5-inch H x 9.75-inch W x 1-inch D (513-1419) (513-1419-INT)

My husband has dementia and using an analog clock is now extremely difficult for him. A digital clock works great.I used to have a small whiteboard up next to his seating area, and I used dry-erase markers to write the day and date down for him. I found I would forget to do so now and then, but this clock does it for me. I chose the setting shown in the photo which shows the day of the week and the date.Since this clock unfortunately is not backlit, it would have been impossible for him to see if I had hung it on the wall across the room where our current traditional clock (with Roman numerals!) is hanging. Therefore, I came up with this "hack". The new digital clock hangs on the side of a cabinet next to his chair. I did not want to damage the cabinet by hammering in a nail to mount the clock, and Command hooks would make it sit at an odd angle. I wanted it to be next to his directions for using our home phone and his picture-phone intended for people with dementia.I placed two strips of sticky-back Velcro on the back of the clock and two yellow REMOVABLE sticky-back Command Velcro pieces on the cabinet. The clock now hangs neatly on the side of the cabinet and can be removed to change batteries as needed. The sticky Velcro on the side of the cabinet can be removed easily without damage to the cabinet.This clock also has a fold-out support that can be used if one chooses to have it sit on a table or nearby shelf, kind of like a table-top picture frame, but I didn't have that option.I gave it only four stars for "easy to read" because it is not backlit and hard to see in dim light. If properly placed, the numbers are large and very readable. Otherwise, it's a great clock.

This is a great clock and lets anyone know the day, date and time. It needs to be back lit slightly because if the room is dim you cannot see it to tell the time. It did reset itself one day and the day/date was off, not sure how or why that happened. Great size, easy to set, and great value for the money.

Purchased this clock for my wonderful 83 year old Mom who does have difficulty remembering things. I selected this clock because it does not have a back light. Mom likes the room dark. And it is in the family room where there are night lights for safety. Mom does not object to the nightlights, but other lights are not welcomed. There are other models with backlights.The clock is easy to read and placed on a coffee table. Reasonably attractive as it does not appear to be cheap and has a nice finish on it. Mom does use the clock and mentions the date and day. This is helpful with her memory and allows her to have the information without asking. I know that sounds like a small thing to those of us with no memory loss, but it is huge for someone like my Mom. It was worth the money just for that, but priced well even without that consideration. It also does not make any noise like some wall clocks. Another plus as it does not require Mom to figure out where the noise is coming from.I followed the you tube video and had no difficulty setting it up. I waited until the change in daylight savings time to post my review. No problem with the change. So far, no need to change the battery, so I can’t really comment on that yet. If it is problem, I will update my review, but do not anticipate one because of the video instructions.

I bought this clock for my wife who has dementia and cannot remember what day it is. It just works and works beautifully. Very simple to set up with good instructions. Once it gets the signal for the time it is all automatic and keeps precise time.The wood type face is a walnut color and is benign. The day of the week is across the top and is very easy to read as is the time which are in very large numbers. The date is in the corner in smaller numbers, but still easy to read.We are very happy with this clock and it solved the problem for us.Update 4/23/23 Clock consistently loses time. As I write it is 2 minutes slow. Have to manually reset time. Too bad, otherwise it is a good setup.

Purchased this four times and now have one in most rooms in my home. Amazing quality and long lasting construction. Years now, and I have never had to replace any of my clocks. Excellent in every way

The LA CROSSE Atomic Digital Wall Clock It is easy to program and easy to read from across the room. I have mine hanging on the wall, and it hangs but it also has a sturdy stand built into the back for it to be used on a desk or any flat surface. The wood "look" is very versatile and blends in with most decor styles. I am very pleased with my purchase and will probably buy another one soon.

After several months of continuous use the clock works well and maintains accurate time, date and temperature. The clock was easy to setup and program and the large displays are excellent for reading across the room. Still running on the original batteries so far.

I’ll start by saying that I like all this clock has to offer. It gives the time, date, day of the week, and year. As everyone knows this can be very helpful. The wood grain works well with my walls and looks very rich. I do like the large numbers, making it easier to see.On the downside for me was it stated that it could be seen in low lighting. I’ve placed this in my rv coach. With its dark walls and from dusk on, unless you have room lights on, it’s difficult to see. I believe it would be so much better with a hint of a back light on it. At least in my case.I do believe it is worth the money and for most it might be great. It just needs a little more for my purposes.
