Das Ist Wunderbar
First I have to say that this is a do-over. Lets just say the first one didn't fare to well & ended up a mixed box of sorts by the time it arrived at the post office. The packing that was to protect the boxed product within a larger box was nonexistent & allowed the boxed cooker to tumble around like being in a dryer. So in light of that & the fact that Amazon was quick to immediately replace the damage one at no cost to me, I won't take away a star that would somewhat lessen the value of the cooker that arrived in excellent condition. I wanted to get a large Romertopf for cooking meals but also that my wife would be able to use it for her bread making. I'm glad the interior bottom is glazed because it is much easier to clean up after cooking meals & the food doesn't stick to the bottom. I like the benefits of being able to soak the cooker in water allowing the clay to become saturated & releasing the moisture into the food...very nice. My wife really likes it for her bread due to the moisture that is released and allows the crust to be baked to perfection. So what if I devoured a loaf of her artisan bread in a 10 hour span. The flavor reminded me of the fresh bread I use to have while overseas & I just couldn't get enough of that wonderful taste. Funny how your senses can key in on a specific scent or taste that reels you back almost 40 years ago...and I could afford to eat an entire loaf of bread back then because I was skinny as a rail. Now I eat one & it looks like I swallowed a Butterball turkey, but IT IS SO worth it. OK enough sidebar. So far all the meals & breads that we have prepared using the Romertopf have turned out wonderful & as crazy as it may seem I would say that the meals are healthier. I love being able to create different combos of meals using this cooker. The food is moist, not dried out, and the flavor is absolutely delicious. Bon appetit!

Clay Pot Chicken
This pot is beautiful! Nothing makes a better roasted whole chickens than a clay baker. This brand is the best and the glazed interior does make it easier to clean than others. I had one for years and years and then dropped and broke it. So glad I finally replaced it.This is a good size. I only roast chickens in mine and this has plenty of room for veggies and a good sized chicken. Perfect every time.

BEST way to cook - so good!
I've used a clay baker for years and it's my favorite way to cook. This purchase was made because the one I had for at least 15 years broke. So don't be put off thinking they are expensive because they last and last!I've never had anything come out less than absolutely perfect in my clay Baker's. Some of my ret favorite recipes are beef roasts, lemon Orange chicken and polynesian country style ribs which is the absolute best. I will edit this with more on line my phone is being annoying.

Beware of fragile clay material.
All around great product however, the lid of the pot is somewhat difficult to clean. Your standard Palmolive, want do it! 😥😥 I unfortunately had to update my review a piece of clay broke off the base of the pot. There's no reason it did it. The oven was cold. I placed it on a towel after taking it softly out; a piece fell off. I'm very disappointed.

Perfect for bread and other items
I use this for my sourdough and it is perfect for it. I haven't cooked anything else in it but I know I could.

Excellent for making 1 dish meals.
I had friends over for dinner and used my Romertopf to make a roasted chicken. It was so moist and tender my two friends now own their own. 🤗💕

Great for maintaining moisture in your food.
Had a small one and liked it so well, bought larger size as well. Best thing I have used to cook chicken (falling off the bone) and not dried out. Veggies ,roast, all come out great, just have to learn how long for veggies in your oven.

and this baker has proved superior to my cast iron Dutch oven
This clay baker has been a godsend. I bake no-knead bread (rye, whole wheat semolina, sourdough) at least once a week, and this baker has proved superior to my cast iron Dutch oven. I soak it in water for 15 minutes before turning on the oven, then let the Romertopf heat up along with the oven to 500 degrees, at which point I put the dough in. Beautiful results!
