A good product at a fair price.
I have started doing videos for both my Facebook and YouTube channels. This release comes in very handy for the single camera situations I shoot in occasionally where I don't have to lean to the camera, start the video and then have to later edit out the reaching process. The cable that the controller is wired to is just long enough that I can use it. It is a little touch at times for me to do a quick auto-focus before the start of filming but I don't fault the remote release for that. I am glad to be able to be a bit away from the camera and not have to edit out a long arm reach to start the video recording. Fair price for a good product.

Useful but very lightly built
This is useful not only for remotely triggering a camera, but also for triggering a camera without jarring it or making it vibrate. That’s important in doing astrophotography and time exposures, and that’s why I purchased it for my GH2.It’s a very simple device- just a locking push button in a plastic case with a length of cable and a mini-plug. You could no doubt make a better unit yourself that would be more rugged and reliable, but this struck me as a reasonable value. It does feel a bit flimsy, but with care it should last a while. Fingers crossed.

Worked well for two weeks and performed great and then just stopped working,.
Out of the box it worked great and then within two weeks, for whatever reason it stopped. I decided on another brand to replace this one, but the feel, the look and the ease of use was great while it worked. I believe I may have gotten one of those products that just happens to not be like the others (based on the reviews here). I just didn't want to take another chance when I am out trying to capture still images. It just sucks when you dedicate an entire day to getting the right pics and something like this happens.

Excellent savings
Remotes are typically expensive, upwards of around $50 or more. At a fraction of that cost, this one works just fine for snapping the shutter when the camera is zoomed and everything needs to remain perfectly steady to get a good picture. It also has a nice long cord so you don't need to be right next to the camera. I'll be getting a lot of use with it.

Bummed out.
Was advertised to work on my DMC-FZ200 but did absolutely nothing. Checked owners manual thinking I might need to set it up. Nothing there. No instructions included but why would you need them? Plug it in and press the button. Have seen some other reviews from people that purchased these inexpensive ones that also didn't work and they ended up paying for the OEM from Panasonic which is very expensive.. returned this item and am considering my options.

> DOES THE JOB
DESCRIPTION> Control unit about 7/8" x 5/8' x 4"> Cable about 38" long> Connector 2.5mm sub-mini ("stereo")Works perfectly with my Panasonic Lumix DX7; albeit its a small hassle to pry open the access panel of the DX7 to insert the plug.Comes with a nice little gray velvet-like like pouch (3 3/4" x 2 1/4"), which (typically of PhotoTech products) is too small to hold the product (in this case, the remote control switch)---but you might find some other use for it.> Click on “Stoney” just below the product title to see my other reviews, or leave a comment to ask a question.

It doesn't work for the DMC-G85
I bought this to use with my G-85, and expected it to work since it says it is a replacement for the DMC-G85 among others. It did not work at all. The camera didn't even recognize anything was plugged into it.

I use it when doing group shots
Handy to step away from camera when doing group shots with camera on tripod.
