Q: Does it run small or actually us size?

When I tell you I just put this on remembering I ordered this. I’m not lying. If you want the exact fit, I recommend your exact size otherwise go a size up. This fits so well. It’s not tight on me as a XL guy.

Q: Shopping for my very tall, (5'7") thin, 12yr old..normally an adult medium..what size should i order?

My son usually wears an xl I ordered a 2X and it was 2 small and the material is a really thin silk 1 layer he is 5 9 180lb med build. I am returning this one. So you would probally be safe with a 2x . good luck
