I’ve used various seed start containers over the years and they always seem to tear or distort or bend over time so they really aren’t usable for the next year. These are much sturdier than the ones I had, plus the smaller size makes it much easier to move around and organize. I feel like these will store more easily and a can really be reused multiple times. The vent is easy to put on, just click it in place while your other hand is on the other side pushing gently against it as you press it in place. I prefer to water my seedlings from the bottom, so I left one cell open in each container to pour water into so I don’t have to remove the divided seed container from its tray - it just drains into the bottom tray through the watering hole and the capillary action waters my seeds from the bottom up.

Smaller that I visualized. However, I have found that this compact size is perfect for strarting my seedlings in my window sil. It is actually a 3 part item, the base, seeding tray, and the lid. The base tray completely holds the seed trays and keeps the trays elevated a bit to allow adequate drainage. The seed trays are small, but deep enough for the seedling roots to grow nicely. The domed lid is good. It took some doing to get the 'humidity adjustment disc' into the top. Once in the disc works great to adjust the humidity inside the dome. The dome does not fasten to the base tray. It is sits on top of the base.A big plus are the tools that come with the trays. They are miniture and perfect for use with the trays.

I plant my own heirloom tomato seeds every March, and have for 25+ years. I have never found a seeding tray as durable and sturdy as these! The green watering tray, the clear cell trays, and the clear dome/covers can be reused. The covers come with an adjustable air vent on top, which helps so much with moisture and temperature control. And, an added bonus are the two planting tools that are the perfect size for planting seeds and transplanting seedlings. This seedling starter kit is very highly recommended, and the best I’ve ever used!

When I first got these, I was surprised by how small they were. But they seem to be Very sturdy and much more easy to handle than the big seed trays. The cells are actually bigger than some of the seed tray ones. I went ahead and planted all 10 of them with different kinds of flowers and then went back in and order two more packages of them. That’s how much I love them.

I wasn’t sure if the clear tops would be sturdy but ordered these last growing season. They were much sturdier than I expected and was nicely surprised. I have a cat that likes to get to my seedlings. These lids prevented her from doing that and did not buckle or crush under her weight. The green base is also very sturdy! The air vents are adjustable and easy to use. Other similar products had complaints that the air vents kept falling out. I did not have any issues with this. They conveniently stack for winter storage. I will definitely order more for this season!

I love the size, the sturdiness, the vent on the top, the price, the convenience of the smaller size, everything about these. The reviewer who complained about the plastic vent cover just sitting on top did not press it on so it clicked into place. It is not hard to do and makes these so much better than the large unvented jiffy flats I've used before and even the homemade seeding trays I've made. I'll probably be ordering them again in the future.
