These cartridges can be stored for years and still write the first time it's used, unlike manufacturer's products that will dry out after a couple of years and no amount of coaxing will convince them to perform the task they were created for. As expected, have bought them before for my space pen. The Russians were onto something though, a pencil is a lot cheaper. They don't last as long as a normal pen which means you go through them a lot.
