Good for veins and memory
I read somewhere about a story of one of the longest lived men in Asia. When asked what his secret was to his longevity he said he ate a leaf of Gotu Kola every day. It is also good for your memory. In Sri Lanka elephants used to munch on the leaves and are known for their especially good memories. It is also known as a promoter of long life. So I think it tones and strengthens your leg veins and your brain veins and a few more things. It does not work over night but after taking it a couple of weeks again I don't have leg pains like before, I was standing on my legs in one place too long this past summer painting the house and started to notice some veins that wanted to bulge and it hurt and once again it went back. and I am relieved:) I also have horse chestnut but in the long run I prefer Gotu Kola, it is easier on the body and has a really good overall effect beyond the veins. It is especially good for toning and strengthening the brain so anyone engaged in intellectual activity would benefit from it. It is not a stimulant but a centering herb and not to be confused with Kola nut or anything with caffeine. In fact Gotu Kola is supposed to promote restful sleep. Centella Asiatica is its botanical name. It is known by some as the herb of enlightenment and was esteemed in India by yogis to improve meditation. It is said to develop the crown chakra, the energy center at the top of the head and to balance the right and left hemispheres of the brain, which the leaf is said to resemble in its shape. On a side note, I noticed my dog likes a bit of it too, he is pretty smart. It is good against high blood pressure and venous insufficiency without the side effects of Horse Chestnut. If I had to describe how it works, it is subtle but impressive and gets results. Children who took it on a regular basis scored higher in their tests. Now that is nothing to sneeze at of course it does help to study too

Interesting and Impressive Supplement
I'd never heard of this until doing some research for someone, on vascular insufficiency in legs. I've also been trying to find good ways to increase collagen (connective tissue) in my own body, as I'm getting older. Reading about this Gotu Kola, I noticed a small reference to it building collagen. So I gave it a try. This is fascinating! For the past 5-6 months, I've been using Ginger root supplements (about 550mg) twice a day to replace Ibuprofen. That stuff's amazing, and has been improving my flexibility, as well as reducing general aches and pains. So I added in this stuff, also twice a day, with lunch, then dinner. I like supplements that produce a noticeable effect, and this is one of them. The first thing is that it seems to relax the body. Not like a sedative, just relaxing. The second effect is going to sound strange: My feet feel better after taking a capsule! LOL! I never really thought about it before, but it's somewhat like having a foot massage, with the blood flowing better and a reduction in minor aches. Having been doing this regimen now for about 2 weeks, I'm also noticing that it's a general pain reducer as well. I don't seem to need commercial, over-the-counter things like Aleve or the Ibuprofen as much (if at all). I end up taking some of those, partly by habit, and partly for faster-action if I get a headache. But I can see that this Gotu Kola stuff seems to be working in harmony with the Ginger root. Now I'm excited to see what happens in a few months of regular usage! I'm 69-years old, and working in the yard a fair amount. This stuff makes it easier, and increasingly more "fun" to get outdoors. Pretty cool!

gotu kola has made my skin awesome. (I'm in my mid 20s
I wanted to wait a little before I reviewed this product. Herbs do not work immediately. You need to give it at least a month, sometimes longer, to build up in your system before you will notice a difference. Anyways, gotu kola has made my skin awesome. (I'm in my mid 20s, and for some reason your body likes to make you flashback to your teens with your skin breaking out). Anyways, I haven't had any breakouts, and my stretch marks from 2 pregnancies are definitely fading. So, forget the obnoxiously over priced skin products that are mostly marketing and alcohol based, and take this herb! (Bonus: my nails are so shiny!) As far as the memory and concentration, it does help. I have aspergers (which we tend to hyper focus, but man sometimes that music in the store is just impossible block out so instead of buying grociers, we get extremely annoyed by that awful, blarring sound and we ponder why the store punishes it's shoppers in such a way.), and it helps me deal with the overwhelming world around me and i feel less anxious, thus improving focus. Try it. It's affordable. (And cheaper than copays to see a therapist for the singular purpose of ranting about that jerk who took your spot in the waiting room).

HELPS WITH FOCUS
This is one supplement that I always have on hand. If I run out, after a few days, I just don't feel as focused. I think Gotu Kola really helps with that. It is an Ayurvedic rememdy that works for me. I have taken it for several years and plan to continue.
