Dap 52084 Patching Plaster, White

For textured art- plaster on canvas, I started out with this and mixed it with some white Liquitex gesso, but for thicker projects it failed me. Cracks galore on the sun and moon. (Which had to be patched with Fix-All!) DAP Alex Plus Spackling worked better- minimal cracking and no need to add gesso. Patching Plaster takes about 1 to 2 days to dry depending on thickness. I really like not having to mix my own and it gives you plenty of time to work with it until it hardens. For thinner projects, like the starburst, cracking is less of an issue.

This stuff is absolutely useless and the whole process has me ready to knock the wall down out of anger.For starters the container is too small. Mixing causes a giant mess. Probably lose 1/4th of the container worth spilling over the edges. Making the container an inch taller must be too hard to design.Next, the product is too runny. Patching a floor is probably the only thing that will work. Tried on a wall, and the product runs downs. Has a milkshake consistency. Even tried letting it sit out for 20 minutes and still too runny. Just a complete waste of time and money. Not sure if they'll even let me return a bottle missing 1/4th, but I'm sure going to try. Time/money wasted.I love DAP products, use a ton. This stuff is complete garbage though. Might be time to look for another brand.

Wonderful product. Works great if you follow the instructions. I am a little concerned about it drying in the bucket prematurely when 1/2 is gone, but perhaps laying down a piece of saran wrap will solve this issue.

Firstly when the package arrived it looked like it had been treated pretty roughly. No one fault but the carrier, I know. But when I opened the box the tubs had been dumped in with no padding or protection so both tubs had opened in the box. The product is so wet kit spilled everywhere. Reading instructions was impossible. I proceeded to use what was left on a rather large hole in drywall. There was a backer to apply the stuff against but the consistency is so wet it doesn’t stay in place and after almost 24 hours is still slowly moving out of the hole. Gravity is a cruel master. In short I would not buy again

The batch I got was a bit on the loose side rather than like peanut butter. Only found this out after buying at Walmart when I need more and found the ones there were a better consistency. Could be a bad batch I got but it did what it was supposed to just not as effective as the more peanut butter texture that I got at the local store
