Q: Are these suppose to stink, just open bottle terrible smell...are they safe to take ?

It is supposed to smell. People you could have just looked up the small of NAC. jeesh, people want a product then they waste it. Sulfur is normal and it smells that way. This information is in many reviews. For those using brands that don't smell. Its probably just a poor or fake product. If anything its good to know if your product is real or not.

I just recently purchased this product but the smell is so awful I don't think it's good to take it. Is it supposed to smell this bad?

I disagree with some of the replies. I took Mucinex for a long time with disappointing results. NAC is a far more effective expectorant. Within a half hour to 45 minutes after taking it, I usually cough up mucus. I highly recommend it for anyone with lung congestion or COPD.
