Honestly, as a self-proclaimed coffee snob, I was a little weirded out at first when I read that VitaCup adds B vitamins and other minerals to the k-cup pod. I often take a B complex supplement in the morning with my coffee, and I guess I had just never thought of drinking coffee that already has vitamins added, but it's a good idea. While caffeine interferes with the absorption of some vitamins, I do not think B and D vitamins fall into that category. VitaCup French Roast Coffee is just your regular French dark roast coffee with the addition of some vitamins: specifically, vitamins B12, B9, B6, B5, B1, and D3. I have been doing some research into the established recommended daily allowance for B vitamins and how much vitamin B can be consumed per day and I found all of these vitamins to be within the prescribed limits. I would say that the vitamin content of a single K-cup is comparable to a Vitamin B complex supplement, except for the high amount of vitamin B12 added. Vitamin B12 is water-soluble and has no toxic effects in high quantities, though, so I felt comfortable trying out this coffee. I was pleasantly surprised by VitaCup. This coffee is really delicious and not overly caffeinated. It also provides a good AM energy boost. I don't have a Keurig, so I just peeled the lid off of the K-cup and brewed the contents of the K-cup in my normal coffeemaker with a couple of cups of water. The dark roast is very flavorful and you can't really taste the vitamins added at all. I have tried several other brands of K-cup coffees when I had access to a Keurig, and I found most of the grocery store and even brand-name brands I tried to be overly bitter or weird tasting. This is not the case with VitaCup. The dark roast flavor is very nice, nice enough that I can drink it black and not add additional creamer or sugar. There are only a few brands of coffee that I can drink black because I find most coffees to be very bitter and weird tasting. That is not the case with VitaCup French Dark Roast. I really want to try more flavors! My only challenge will be to limit myself to one VitaCup a day; I don't want to overdo it on the vitamins added so I might have to switch to a different coffee after my first cup. However, I am a fan of this coffee and highly recommend it.

I was hesitant to try Vitacup as I assumed there would probably be some sort of off/odd, herbal/medicinal taste to it what for the added vitamins. Curiosity won out however, as I am always intrigued by any product claiming to provide the extra energy that I crave. I was surprised to find that not only could I not taste the vitamins, but the coffee itself is actually just plain good. Delicious, even, as it honestly might be one of the best-tasting K-cup brands that I've ever tried. I would give it 5 stars on taste alone but am rating it lower overall for two reasons, the most important being that unfortunately I noticed no discernible difference in how it made me feel. I wasn't expecting it to be a miracle coffee of course, but there was no increase in my energy levels or alertness at all, not even a minuscule blip. So that was a bit of a let-down. And second, it is definitely pricier than what I usually expect to pay for my coffee. However, if you're a regular consumer of vitamins, the convenient (and tasty) option to get your daily dose right right along with your daily cup instead of as a separately purchased supplement may justifiably make sen$e.

Box appears to be old and faded, altho not expired, was repackaged inside of a box from a different product. At this price I am disappointed and a little nervous to drink it..

We're big coffee drinkers in my household, so we're always up to trying new and different coffees. I hadn't ever heard of a coffee that is infused with vitamins before, therefore I was really curious about it. We went with French Roast, though that's not normally a blend we would drink. Dark/bold blends are what we drink in my house. However, the french roast is the only one that fit that description. I would recommend that VitaCup come up with another coffee that is dark roast and/or bold that isn't french roast. Biggest issue with french roast is that it sometimes has a burnt taste. With VitaCup's French Roast, we didn't get that taste or smell, which was shocking. This coffee is delicious, I was shocked that there wasn't any weird taste - y'know those added vitamins. We drink a couple of cups of coffee a day, but made sure we only drank one of the VitaCup French Roast Coffee. This isn't our favorite type of coffee, but we do enjoy it. We would certainly buy it again!
