These are so handy to have around. They definitely help extend the drinkability of wine once uncorked. Easy to use and foolproof. We've never had a leak once properly pumped down. We have several that are several years old and well used, but still retain their ability to seal a bottle.

I have redone my experiment several times and updated my rating and review accordingly (original review at the end). Tips for success: * Bottle should be stored upright. Regardless of product description, storing on the side will let the liquid loosen the seal and the bottle will eventually leak. * Spirits store better than wine, which both keep much better than other fermented drinks such as champagne, brut, or beer, whose built-up gasses weaken the vacuum seal over time. * Keep pumping until it becomes physically hard to continue. The click trigger timing varies by device, but happens way before ideal vacuum state. (You can weigh the bottle with a very sensitive scale to see this.) Sometimes I'd have to keep pumping through 20 or so clicks before there was little enough oxygen left that it got painful to keep pumping. Good workout to counteract the calories 😆 * Use laboratory grade parafilm over the mouth/top of the bottle after vacuum sealing. This greatly locks in the seal and extends the vacuum time. Using the above tips, the quality of the beverage sealed is really quite amazingly preserved weeks after opening. I bought 4 identical bottles of wine and drank half of 3 of them, then sealed them with: a cork, the Vacu Vin vacuum seal, and the Vacu Vin vacuum seal with stretch cling wrap over the top and reinforced with rubber bands. A couple weekends later, I tried all 3 and compared them to the 4th, unopened bottle. Results: Cork only: best taste and still had some gas build up upon uncorking Vacu Vin only: leaked and tasted so awful that I'll use the rest for cooking Vacu Vin with stretch wrap, rubber bands: decent and preserved most of the taste, but cork alone was better Conclusion: unless you're saving wine for a few hours later, Vacu Vin is all hype and no quality. I challenge the positive reviewers here to repeat my experiment with their favorite wine to see for themselves.

Me encantan estos tapones. Color discreto y son estándar para todo tipo de botellas de vino. Muy útiles para no beber de más y guardar tu vino para mas ocasiones. Solo recuerda que debes contar con la máquina para extraer el aire. A veces se venden juntas con los tapones. De excelente calidad y muy útiles.

Il Vacu Vin è probabilmente il sistema di conservazione vino sottovuoto più diffuso al mondo, e per una buona ragione: funziona bene, sempre. Questo set comprende la celebre pompa manuale e 4 o più tappi in gomma alimentare lavabile in lavastoviglie, compatibili con la maggior parte delle bottiglie di vino (esclusi gli spumanti). Utilizzarlo è semplice: si inserisce il tappo, si pompa alcune volte fino al classico click di tenuta e il gioco è fatto. L’ossigeno viene estratto dalla bottiglia, rallentando l’ossidazione e mantenendo intatti aromi e profumi fino a 7 giorni. E per i più distratti? I tappi hanno rotellina data integrata per ricordare il giorno dell'apertura. Punti di forza: Design minimal ma robusto, 100% Made in Netherlands Pompa leggera ma resistente, si impugna comodamente Conservazione perfetta anche per vini delicati Tappi riutilizzabili e di lunga durata Nessuna manutenzione, nessuna batteria, nessun cavo Qualche utente segnala che su bottiglie con collo più largo può esserci perdita, ma in generale l’adattabilità è molto buona. E a questo prezzo (circa 3,50 € a tappo), è un investimento irrinunciabile per chi non vuole buttare una goccia di vino buono. In sintesi: una piccola grande invenzione per chi ama il vino ma non sempre finisce la bottiglia. Un gesto semplice che fa davvero la differenza tra “buon vino” e “vino che sa di tappo d’aria”.
