Goodbye rectal, hellooo happiness
I work as a vet tech and let me tell you... clients are soooo happy when I don’t have to use the rectal thermometer! This works so well! The only thing being it doesn’t work well with covers which is both a pro/con. Pro: you don’t have to waste your money on covers (actually a huge pro) and con: you have to clean it after every use. It’s accurate, easy and so so so much better than a rectal for pets! Thank you for this product! Many of my fellow techs have been asking and are soon buying one !

does not work on poodles
If this were accurate, our dog would be dead - for a long time. This thing would not go above about 95 degrees on our poodle. I believe it is because he has too much hair in his ear but that is the way he is. We trim it but because of his breed, there will always be hair in his ear. This device is totally useless. If he were a short hair breed, it might work but not on our boy.

Very easy to use, seems accurate
I have two pets, one is well and one was sick with an infection and running a temperature. I bought this thermometer to monitor my sick pet over a long weekend before bringing him back to the vet, hoping his fever broke after two days on an antibiotic. It is extremely easy to use! I used the thermometer first on my well dog several times to get an idea of what to expect. The result varied by one or two degrees depending on how I placed it in the ear. i also discovered that it is best turning the thermometer all the way off before taking a temp for a second time. My sick pet's temperature appeared normal so It gave me a bit of relief. I dont regret buying this!

SHOULD I ADD DEGREES?
Am I supposed to add degrees to the reading? I have 13 dogs and they all came in at 94-97 degrees which would be low for a dog.

It sorta kinda works but no two readings match
Doesn’t work properly. Temps all over the map.Nice display and nice design but I need a device that works and is accurate on my cat.I cannot recommend this at least for cats.

Not as simple as you would like to think
I got this to monitor my dog's temperature, and initially could not get it to go over about 97, which is obviously incorrect. After some research, I figured out how to use this type of thermometer correctly and it appears to be working properly. It takes some practice and time. I have 3 dogs and it will not work for my 2 larger dogs. But, my little dog will lay quietly on her side and let me insert the probe down her ear canal to get an accurate reading. It has to be inserted far enough in the ear canal for the infrared to bounce off the eardrum in order to get an accurate reading. Since a dog's ear canal has a bend in it, this is not just a matter of putting the probe at the opening for the ear canal. It takes some practice and a calm and quiet dog so that you do not risk an injury to the dog's ear.

Great thermometer, no beep feature!
This thermometer is an upgrade. Very quick to tell the temperature and the no beep feature is great for pets and small kids. It doesn't scare them like other ones. Highly recommend!
