Buck Knives Made in China?
This is a large knife with an excellent Buck drop point blade and supposedly has the Buck lifetime warranty. It readily flips out and locks into place with a liner lock. Feels well made to close tolerances. I was surprised by two things; the knife is made in China and it is much heavier than I thought it would be with the carbon fiber handle. For some reason I thought Buck knives advertised that they are made in the USA?Update: Had the knife for awhile now. The more I handle it the more I like it. Very well made knife at a great price. Raised the rating from 3 stars to 5 stars.

Buck 258 Haxby
Wanted a 4” blade folder, not extra heavy or over built, something reasonably light and easy to carry. Checked all the boxes for $45. OK, made in China, appears to be of nice fit, finish with a smooth action. The thumb lever does a good job of protecting the thumb from blade closure while disengaging the liner lock single handed. If I have a negative it is the slick scales.

Shame on Buck
Nice knife but wish it was not China made. Shame on Buck

Heavy trigger pull
Not for hunting or food prep because of the difficulty cleaning out the bearings. The flip lever requires 12 to 14 pounds of pull. The liner lock works fine but they could’ve made it easier to access, though it’s easier than some and seems well designed. It’s a lightweight knife for a 3 7/8” blade length 7/8” wide, and a very comfortable carry. This knife is Bucks answer for a edc flip lock blade with a decent flat ground drop point blade on bearings mounted with a thin carbon fiber handle. The lanyard hole and right hand deep pocket carry clip shows that Buck is keeping up with the changes.Overall I like the knife and I do work it, I just wish that it flipped open easier.

Very good design and workmanship
This is my 2nd Haxby, I carry it most days. It just a very well designed knife. No jiggle or slop anywhere. The flipper function is excellent, it handles well, and the handle material is durable. I like the flat grind a lot. And the clip is long enough to be secure--not always the case with folders, even high end.

I thought this came with a sheath
Ok, so I thought it came with a sheath, but the goofiest thing is that one isn't offered as a "frequently bought together," item. Why not? I'd have bought it.I'm not crazy about the locking mechanism. There's too good a chance of folding it back on one's fingers. Altogether, that makes this purchase a hassle.
