It was a gift for a near 2 year old who is a Pete the Cat Fan.. Nice size book with colorful pictures ..

I didn’t expect this to have lift the flaps (my fault for not looking more closely). The flaps were also hard to lift/fold cleanly, some sloppy gluing, and some of the flaps were lifting up where they should’ve been glued. It’s also paperback when my other Pete books are hardcovers. Again my fault. Decent story but the physical book will not stand the test of time (my young kids).

My 4 and 2 year olds are avid readers. They really love books in a series because there tends to be some predictable features. Well, this Pete the Cat doesn't really adhere to the normal Pete the Cat format. Other reviews mention this, if you want more details. However, I specifically purchased this one because there are not as many books about Thanksgiving compared to say, Christmas or Halloween, and I have been very satisfied with my purchase for that reason. The book gives some good history - other Thanksgiving books typically have the characters eat Thanksgiving dinner without giving many details as to WHY we celebrate Thanksgiving.
