Really enjoy coloring Tabz Jones

I really wanted to like this book. The art is beautiful, however it's not so much grey scale, as it is very dark grey scale. If these images were a lot lighter the color pages would be perfect. I like the gothic images, and overall artist's work. Lighter would have made this a 5 star book.

I have recently gotten very interested in grayscale coloring & have bought quite a few grayscale coloring books since then. This book & one other are my first by Tabz Jones. As always there are exceptions to any rule, but I have found that most grayscale coloring books include images that are very dark, some more so than others. This book has quite a few very dark images, more than the other coloring book by Tabz I bought. The artwork is beautiful. There are enough lighter shaded images to bring some balance to the whole. My favorite image is the "big eyes" young girl, such a delight! The paper is of medium weight & markers do bleed through. However, the images are all one-sided. Tabz writes that the darker images lend themselves well to markers, & I find that to be both true & false. Markers do give the barest of tints to darker images, but do nothing at all on images that can be considered black. I have taken off one star for those images which truly contain some significant black portions of an image. I would purchase this color book again for the more customary grayscale images alone & plan on buying more coloring books by Tabz.
