Review: Great Pick for Fourth Graders - My son’s 4th grade teacher assigned Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing as a summer reading book. It’s an easy and engaging read, 110 pages with no pictures, making it a nice transition into chapter books. The story follows Peter and his misadventures with his little brother, Fudge. The main lesson? Life isn’t always fair when you’re the older sibling, but love and patience help families handle the chaos. A relatable and fun read for any kid with a younger sibling!

A Funny and Touching Tale of Childhood and Siblinghood
Peter is a very relatable character. He has school trouble, family trouble, and girl trouble. The situations are exaggerated, but I can see them happening and empathize with Peter. While I was in 4th grade when I first read it, I am neither male nor a big brother, but I still enjoyed the story.

Best Book!
This was the best book I have ever read in my entire life. I liked the part when Peter got a new pet after his turtle had been swallowed. I also liked how Peter switched from being annoying to helping his parents with Fudge. The part where I was relieved was when Fudge was all better from the turtle being in his stomach.

4th Grade Literature Circle
I am a 4th grade teacher and used this classic Judy Blume book for Literature circle/Novel study with my class. The following are honest reviews from some of my students. I would recommend this book to 4th graders and up because younger kids would not understand the plot. My favorite part was when Peter (the main character) is really mad at his younger brother but then becomes happy because of a surprise for him and only him. I would recommend this book and give it 4.5 stars. I think it is good for 4th graders and above because younger kids may try to do some of the crazy stuff that Peter's younger brother Fudge does. My favorite part that made me laugh was when Fudge went crazy and tried flying like a bird.

When I read the book I was amazed how good it was. I mean you can't go wrong with a perfect ending, getting Petter a dog. So nice!

A brilliant childhood memory! I'm thrilled that Judy's books are available on Kindle! They don't write books like these anymore.
