Drum trigger module without the sound bank

This works perfectly as my home e-kit trigger module. It's easier to set up than my old Alesis DM5 thanks to the responsive buttons. You just have to go through each trigger input individually and tweak each setting until the responsiveness is right. Up to 10 triggers can be used. Powered over the USB connection? Yes please!I use my extra Ddrum Dominion kit with triggered mesh heads, and my cymbals are just plastic frisbees with piezos attached. This ultra cheap setup works great! I run it into Sonar X3 session drummer and have almost no latency. Any issues with latency are probably computer and/or software related. If you have that problem, try using ASIO4ALL as your audio driver. Between that and adjusting buffers in my Sonar settings, I got this setup to work perfectly. Also, you can download Cakewalk Sonar Platinum for free now that it was purchased by Bandlab so that saves you money too 👍

Affordable and flexible

Cool trigger to midi interface, tried with Roland dual triggers and work really well, each input is dual, 1 dual trigger can be assigned to two separate midi channels, that alone makes it the best price range interface, really happy with it.

FLAWLESS!!!

I thought I would share my acoustic drum kit to an electronic drum kit upgrade for anyone else interested in this upgrade. I purchased this DDTI interface (purchased on Amazon), Rtoms mesh heads, Pintech internal triggers and the Behringer U-Phoria UMC202HD (also purchased from Amazon). The DDTI is perfect, plug and play, very simple to use. I plugged the trigger inputs into the DDTI, out of the DDTI into the computer using the USB cord, plug the USB cord from the Behringer U-Phoria UMC202HD into the computer. Configure your DAW (recording program) and configure your VST (virtual instrument program) to work within your DAW. Configure your DAW input to be the DDTI (your DAW will see it immediately). Then configure your DAW output to be the Behringer U-Phoria UMC202HD (again, your DAW will see it immediately). Run the 1/4" main cable outputs of the Behringer U-Phoria UMC202HD to your PA system, and you're good to go. This was a long road learning all of this information, I hope this review will help you to configure your upgrade...

Disappointed

Too difficult to get sounds from SD3 working with Rtom triggers.

Extremely Buggy, basically unusuable

It would be a great product if it wasn't so buggy. The DDTi randomly changes global setting that I've definitely saved. I've read the manual completely and understand that you have to go back to the kit selection mode to save changes to settings. I've talked to the company on the phone about the issue, and they told me "they've never heard of a problem like that" -- so, thinking that I just happened to get one buggy unit, I ordered 3 more to find they all have the same issue!I'm doing the most simple thing possible -- just trying to use sustain pedals to send MIDI notes. But after I set and save the "trigger type" to "switch" and it's definitely saved and confirmed, I check back again later to find the "trigger type" setting has randomly changed to another trigger type like Piezo! And worse, sometimes the unit gets stuck on one trigger type and the keys to change it no longer work, and I have to do a factory reset to be able to set the trigger type again.

Effective and priceless

This product is absolutely perfect....I run windows 11....flawless operation and compatibility...I also record professionally through Ableton and it is like magic....response is humanistic and making adjustments is super easy...very versatile....I also use it through EZdrummer 2 with the metalx expansion pack...love it...there's some wonky reviews on here don't hesitate...get this piece of equipment....processes fast and is great for the price❤️❤️❤️🔥🔥🔥🔥

Midi trigger converter better than advertised

This thing works! There's a lot of function in this small box. There are 10 1/4 stereo inputs on the back for triggers. Your trigger can be a switch or piezo. Because they are stereo inputs, you can feed 2 triggers into each socket. They are independently programmable. There are 2 additional stereo inputs, one for a foot switch (hihat) and the other to switch programs. Sounds more complicated than it is once you work on it a little. You describe the midi characteristics of each of the 20 input triggers one by one with the front panel buttons. Parameters that you will primarily set are: midi number, volume, threshold, and trigger type. You can also specify the velocity curve and a few settings that fine tune each midi note.If you need a lot of drum triggers for electric drums, this will suit you just fine.It apparently is a copy of a Alesis drum trigger. The manual is the same.
