Perfect for Camping – Ideal Size for Our Family of Three!
We love our Blackstone 17” griddle! It’s the perfect size to take camping, and it’s just right for cooking meals for our family of three. This little griddle heats up evenly, making it super easy to whip up breakfast, lunch, or dinner while on the road. The key to keeping it in great shape is giving it a good seasoning right out of the box. We followed the standard pre-seasoning steps, and now the food cooks beautifully with no sticking. Clean-up is a breeze too – a quick scrape, a wipe-down, and it’s ready for next time.If you're planning to leave it outside, a cover is a must to keep it protected. We also got a carry bag, which makes it even easier to pack up with the rest of our camping gear. It’s sturdy, portable, and has made our camping trips that much better. Highly recommend this griddle for anyone looking for a compact, reliable outdoor cooking option!

Great grill for camping or anything else!
I bought this to go with my travel trailer and it has been great! I use it every single camping trip. It is super easy to setup and to clean, heats up incredibly fast, and leads to delicious food. Blackstone has all sorts of accessories to go along. Great brand and a great product!

Great Griddle for Home or On The Road; Requires Care
We already owned the 22” griddle, and it’s great…but sometimes that’s too much griddle for when I’m cooking for just my wife and myself, so when a great deal presented itself, I jumped at the chance to try the 17”, and it’s perfect! It heats evenly, and when treated well (these smaller Blackstone griddles aren’t meant to be left out in the elements unless you have a cover and know what you’re doing with cast iron) it will serve you well for a long time. Our first meal on the 17” was shrimp fajitas, and they were fantastic.Pro Tip: invest in a cover and a carry bag for this one, and keep a few things in mind:1. Pre-seasoning is not an option…it’s a necessity. I got Blackstone’s branded seasoning treatment on sale, but Crisco will work just fine. Heat the griddle to the highest setting and apply a tablespoon, spread evenly (I use a folded-over paper towel held by tongs) until there are no major droplets/puddles of oil, and allow it to burn off (the smoke will lessen until you start to see a mildly reflective sheen). Rinse and repeat to about 3 complete rotations before you first cook on it. Don’t worry about some of the spots you see when you first get it…seasoning and cooking on it will remove those (see my pics).2. When done cooking, there may still be some burnt food on the surface. This is normal and may require some scraping to clean off (I recommend a less-abrasive scraper like one of the plastic ones made by Lodge). After cleaning off any excess, I typical wet a paper towel with a bit of olive oil and run over the surface once, and then wipe off the excess with a dry towel. This will keep it well against moisture creeping in.3. Get one of the silicone covers sold on Amazon if you plan to keep it outside, even if you have a model with a lid. Post-oiling and covering with one of these will add to your protection against moisture and ensure your griddle has a long lifespan.Overall I’m very happy with both of our Blackstone griddles, but one has to keep in mind that these require care and are not set-it-and-forget-it grilling tools. Take care of your tools, and they will take care of you.

Fantastic for RV outdoor cooking
I struggled for a long time deciding which grill to get for my RV. I had never owned a griddle before and was hesitant to buy this one. After so many positive reviews on the RV forums I decided to try it. I've come to love it and am so pleased with my decision. The griddle heats up quickly, cooks well, and clean-up is a breeze (although I clean it up immediately after cooking while the griddle is still hot). It packs up nicely and fits in my RV locker easily. It does have areas of the griddle that are not as hot as others (edges and corners) but this is OK as a warming area. My only dislike is that it has only one temperature control. I would like to have separate controls for each cooking side. This feature is available with the larger units and I realize this was a compromise in getting the smaller griddle.Very happy with this purchase so far.
