Q: Does the kit come with enough gasket to fit the base and top lid?

Yes. if you follow the instructions and cut in half, you will have approx. 4 inches remaining from each 'half' after doing the top and bottom.

Q: Couldn't get the cap on after installing on the small big green egg. Did anyone else have this issue? Seems to thick for the vent cap to fit

The chimney and vent cap have a tapered fit. If the cap is fitting too tightly, please try moving the chimney gasket further up toward the top of the chimney where it is narrower--the wider bottom of the cap should slide over it better in this area. The cap may sit a little higher on the grill when the fit is tight as you have described.

Q: How do you fit it onto the upper dome? I hope I don't have to take it off.

The High-Que Gold Standard gasket is peel and stick. You will need to thoroughly clean the dome surface but you will not need to remove the dome from the grill. Wipe all surfaces clean before application to remove any dust generated by the cleaning and preparation. Having a helper on hand, if available, when working with the dome will make the process even easier. The detailed color instructions will guide you through the entire process.

Q: Would this gasket work if applied only to the lower rim of the Big Green Egg and not the lid?

I found the the gasket worked on either upper or lower... The gasket is not pretty cut and there is plenty of material.. I would change both , not just one side .
