Biconvex Lens Set, Optical Glass Lens Bi-Convex 34mm Diameter 45mm Focal Length Lenses for Google Cardboard VR

I purchased the 34mm lenses only and used it in a Google Cardboard V2. The lens does not come with tabs so I just had it sandwiched between cardboard layers. I had to make the diameter of the middle layer slighter larger than the outer two layers in order to accommodate the size of the lens. Overall, it worked very well and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. VR is cool. It is definitely worth the effort to make one. It does however take some time and patience. I bought this from Pop-Tech.

This review is just for the lenses, not any other gear (all the reviews get lumped together).The lenses are great for the price, although the pupil (size of the center area of the lens through which you get the largest area of distortion free field of view) is pretty narrow. Image quality is great, and I found that you want your eyes to be about as close as you can get them to the lens to get the largest field of view (I'm using a note 5, so it needs to be fairly large. As a result, the focal distance is roughly 35-45 mm.There are no tabs on these lenses, so you'll need to secure them differently than the google cardboard design, but I found they weren't terrible loose just sandwiched between cardboard layers, at least for my first iteration.Lastly, get the lens profile (for google cardboard), I just scanned the code found in the customer review images here, worked like a charm. I'll eventually want the actual lens parameters, but I couldn't find any here (things like lens distortion coefficieny, etc). If I find them, I'll update.

i don't think this thing has 45mm focal length, when compare to others, this product has much less curvature. more like pvc than acaylicthe three ears are pretty neat for mounting then though
