Calphalon Tri-Ply Stainless Steel 8-Quart Stock Pot with Cover

It is my worst buy this year and for that amount. I seasoned it and it still burnt my food. There are cheaper and better quality out there which I have purchased and had great success with. .....so NO, I would not recommend it.

I love this pot! The size is a good one for me as I seem to always end up overfilling my other pots. This one I can just throw in whatever I want and it is plenty big enough without being a huge, deep stock pot. The flat bottom is nice on my ceramic top stove, very smooth. The quality is excellent for home cooking. I’m sure there are elite brand pots for hundreds of dollars more but this one can be classed as a sort of basic, entry level pot for higher quality cookware. It can easily last a lifetime and goes through the dishwasher with no problem. People who complain about the pot warping are using too high heat. The rainbow "stain" and the white haze other people complain about are typical of all stainless steel. Both can be removed quickly with a splash of vinegar and a minute of soaking in the case of the white deposits.

Perfect size, shape and heft for an everyday pan. Cleans beautifully in the dishwasher or by hand. A quick scrub with Barkeepers Friend eliminates any stains and brings back the just-new shine. Especially like the rolled edge which minimizes drips when pouring, and appreciate the glass lid. This pan has become one of my favourite go-to pans.

This hits all those marks. • Lid fits snugly: Steams veggies quickly while locking in nutrients, I’ve used it to make sweet potato, carrots, spinach, and more. • Super easy to clean: Even after thicker foods like mashed lentils or banana oatmeal, it wipes clean without scrubbing.

Nice weight. The slim, smooth handle is elegant and makes for a well-balanced pan. I love it.
