Q: I would like to see a view from the other side to see if the ends are all silicone or have the stainless steel middle.

You can see that view if you click on the thumbnail pic at the left side with the asparagus. This is the older style of OXO tongs - they are great, but they are made of nylon. The newer style with silicone heads has a steel frame, but the heads are fully covered with silicone - you cannot see steel on the back of the silicone - it is inside the silicone. Nylon is firmer and thinner and just has steel on the back of the heads rather than fully inside. It depends on what heat you need. If you only need 400 degrees, I would like the nylon better. The silicone heads will withstand up to 600 degrees. You can usually tell if it's the genuine article by the latching mechanism. Knockoffs generally have a round black latch with no "oxo" or "stainless" labels. The real thing has an odd-shaped (not round) latch and says, I think, "stainless" on the nylon ones, and "oxo" on the silicone ones, but the black latch ends both have that signature shape.

Q: Is the 9" measurement including the locking mechanism or just the tong part?

9” is just the tong part, including the locking mechanism is about 10 and 1/2”

Q: How wide are the nylon heads?

The nylon heads are oval shaped, 1 3/8" wide x 3" long. The grasping surface is concave both side to side and end to end... more so side to side. If grabbing heavy pieces with the tips, they will flex a little.
