Ideal
They're gorgeous!!! Quite long, doubt you'll have something to cover them, although they're perfect bare and don't hurt the eyes unless you stare at them. Just two of these give a very gentle ambient light to the bedroom. I have one hanging straight down from a bare hanging cord fixture, and the other on an odd mic-stand-like lamp at a 45 degree angle pointed downward. They were shipped well enough and arrived in one piece with no damage. Couldn't be happier, these are the second and third edison bulbs I've ordered, and they definitely proved the point that I should order unique styles instead of the classic bulb shape. Two of them really add a ton of character to a room for only $10.Also, heat- not as much as the other one I've had which was 40W. I can cup my hand around these (NO TOUCHING!), and they're barely warm after running for hours.

Beautiful Orange Glow Filament Light
This is a decorative incandescent (filament) light bulb. The glow is more orange than yellow and the filament is in the form of a long "U" that runs up and back down the bulb. Although this is a modern bulb, it has a glow similar to old carbon filament bulbs and a light smokey amber coating on the inside of the glass. It is just like the picture shows. This bulb is a good choice for an antique style decorative lamp with an exposed bulb - or for use as a really neat looking night light. It's not very bright, so it's not a good bulb for where you need a lot of light. This is a purely decorative bulb.

Just received this bulb for a reading light - useless! The packaging states that this bulb will operate on 240V or 120V, meaning that this bulb was designed for 240V. It also states that the bulb draws 60W at 240V and 30W at 120V. Any incandescent bulb may be operated at a lower than design voltage but light output suffers and color is moved far toward red. According to equations predicting power usage and light output for bulbs operated at lower than design voltage, this bulb should draw approximately 19 watts at 120v, I measured 19.2W at 123V using a "Kill A Watt" device. Also according to the equations, the lamp will only emit light equivalent to a lamp of less than 6W; not measured but I believe the equations. Color appears about equivalent to a wood fire.I don't recommend this bulb for anything other than a decoration operated at 120V. Nostalgia, ok. Useful lighting? In my opinion , no!

Very low light production.
Very little light, noticeably less than a 40w. Also, with the coil shape, not a lot of area for light production. Wouldn't likely buy again, but otherwise works as it probably should

Antique Light Bulb
when I'm going for the industrial chic look with a lamp or pendant light or design my own steam punk wall sconce; I'm now able to give it that professional designer finishing touch - an antique light bulb. I love it! I get a lot of compliments as well as "Where did you get that bulb? " questions. I was very surprised and pleased about the price as I thought it would be double what the price actually was! The cherry on top part of this transaction was how fast it was shipped. I received the bulb 2 days after ordering. I can't tell you how long it will last before burning out but even if I get a couple of months I'll still recommend purchasing this bulb for your industrial chic/steam punk room makeover!

smoked glass a nice effect on this
I have a couple of vintage bedside lamps that I thought would be nice to use vintage bulbs with. The first vintage bulb I bought at a box store (rhymes with "blows") - it was neat but even at 40 watts it was a bit too bright to enjoy the design of the wire inside when the light was on. I wanted to try a long bulb so came here, and figured maybe the smoke effect would help with the overall brightness. I figured correctly and am happy with the result. The box the bulb came in was wrapped with plenty of bubble wrap so it arrived safe. At 30 watts though this is strictly for decoration, not so much light output.

Attractive
It's not nearly as orange or amber as the picture shows so I was disappointed with that, but it serves its purpose of being an antique-looking tubular lightbulb. Because the filament is so long inside, it sheds little light. I'd say it's the equivalent of a 15-watt bulb.
