Arthritis-Friendly Pocket Knife
I have been looking for a pocket knife that my hands could open AND close. (I have arthritis in my hands/fingers and my thumb joints have collapsed making my thumbs somewhat useless. I offer this information in case it helps someone determine if this knife might be right for him or her.)After a lot of reading and comparing of knives, I decided to try the Kershaw Blur partially serrated folding knife. Here are features I like and reasons this knife has proven to be the right choice for me. (1) The Kershaw brand has a well-earned solid reputation. (2) The knife appears well made and matches the listed specs. (3) The blade is sharp!(4) The knife is a good weight. I found some knives too heavy in my pocket or on my waistband or belt. (5) The handle portion of the knife is "roughed up" or textured so that I can get and keep a good grip on the knife, lessening the risk of a sharp knife slipping through wet hands.(6) The knife is pretty easy for me to open, but not quite as easy as I would like. I can't get my fingers to master the one-handed speed open. I have to use both hands to hold the knife while pulling the blade out. That said, yes it takes both my hands, but I can readily/easily pull the blade out without cutting myself.(7) For me, here is the knife's selling point: my ability to close the knife easily. I have found lots of knives relatively easy to open, but nearly impossible to close because they require strong thumbs. This Kershaw knife does require me to move a bar like thing with my thumb as I push on the back of the blade. I have found this bar easy to move as I simultaneously push on the blade. The blade releases from its locked position and then I can finish closing the knife. I can close the blade without any danger of cutting myself.A general note. I have to use both hands to open the knife and I often use both hands to close it. Having to use both hands is probably a "deal breaker" for many pocket knife owners. I suspect, however, most people who have more fully functional hands and/or people who are not as klutzy as I, can easily open and close this knife single handedly.

Great knifes
Kershaw is such a good brand. Very durable, feels amazing in your hand. Nice smooth action for the blade. Overall a solid product.

Excellent Pocket Knife
I've owned a Kershaw Blur for nearly three years now. I work in a blue collar trade and carry/use my knife everyday. This knife get so much carry time and use that the aluminum scales are beginning to wear down and scallop where the knife rubs against my pants pocket. That's not a bad thing; just a testament to this knifes ability to last a long time.My Blur holds a edge reasonably well, sharpens very easily, has had very few issues with the pocket clip (the weak link with most pocket knives), and the assist open/frame lock have functioned flawlessly. If you're looking for an excellent daily use pocket knife then look no further. The Kershaw Blur is the knife for you.

Great value on a superior blade
Kershaw Ken Onion Black Blur Serrated Folding Knife with Speed SafeI have several Kershaw knives. Sailors have a safety rule, "One hand for the ship, one for yourself", the self hand is for hanging on to something while working on a pitching, rolling deck. One essential quality of any working knife is the ability to open it with one hand. Kershaws have a "Speed Safe" opening assist that makes single-handing the knife second in convenience only to a sheath knife. I used to carry a sheath knife but in the Age of Paranoia that's no longer possible when ashore among the lubbers. The Black Blur knife is too big for an everyday pocket knife, my everyday knife is a Kershaw Chive, a tiny but handy tool less than 3" long. For serious work, outdoors or on the boat, the Black Blur is my favorite. It takes a bit of force to activate the opening assist, but once started, it snaps open with a satisfying "thunk" and you know you've got a heavy, solid blade that will do any chore. The handle has a very rough coating that gives an excellent grip even wet. Normally I prefer a smooth edge but for working around boats the serrated portion is great for making quick work of even the toughest line. Be careful with it, though, it is exceptionally sharp! This knife is overall a superior value.

Best pocket knife for the money on planet Earth. And made in the USA. Can't be beat
Kershaw is the only pocket knife I will buy.As a military member, I rely on my knife daily and have used it for almost every possible purpose. This Kershaw is better than all of the Gerbers I have had and every bit as good as the Benchmades that go for well over $200.1. The blade is solid and sharp and holds its edge very well. Receives sharpening easily as well2. The open assist is awesome. It is super smooth and tight.3. The grip/handle texture is my favorite out there.4. The knife is made in the USA.Just buy it. The only reason this is my third one is because I forgot my first one in my pocket at the airport and had to surrender it, and I lost my second one overseas.

Best Knife At this Price
I bought this a couple years ago as I slowly worked up the chain of quality and cost for pocket knives. Looking back, with a $200+ knife in my pocket, I think this was one of the best knives at its price point. Kershaw’s assisted open has a satisfying “thwick” feel that makes you fidget with it, so I’m sure I opened and closed it a thousand times without an issue and only popping it open to clean it once. The blade steel is good, no issues with the edge even after it moved into the “yard work” category. No corrosion either. The grip is utilitarian, but thin and comfortable - better than the G10 that you get on knives in this range.I think the best complement was that I took it as my main knife on a long trip to Kenya, where it turned into a gift for a cousin in Nairobi who appreciated a good knife, but it’s hard to get anything even close to this.
