Shamano Sahara 2500R "Quality"
This is my 5th reel with the rear drag and fighting drag. They are a little heavier than the new ones. Use them for trolling for rainbow trout here in BC, Canada 🇨🇦 I've paired it with a Shamano Convergence 7' ML travel rod. Seems to be a nice match. The price point seems to be reasonable for the rod and reel. Had great next day service from Amazon, which was great 👍

nice reel but not foolproof
When I saw that shimano still made a rear drag and fighting drag reel, I had to have one. Couldn't decide between the 1000 and 2500 sizes so I bought both. Works really well. Smooth reeling and drag. The biggest problem I have is that the line loops around the bail pickup roller housing. Wind knots have been minimal. I like the reel and will continue to use them.

Smooth, good quality
Model RD2500I have been using this reel for sea shore lure fishing after my previous reel suffered from ‘wind knots’. I have not had this problem with this reel and has worked well with braided line.The spool offers low casting resistance and I can achieve similar casting distances as with beach casting gear.The reel has a smooth action and works well with light gear.
