Bought these for our boat. Easy to install and sound great

Buying speakers is so subjective, everyone has a different sound quality they consider acceptable.I first read all the negative reviews, and for the price i had to try them.My boat was purchased used with a set of 5” Kenwood installed and no deck, so first year we had no tunes.I installed JL Auddio 700/6 amp and Jl 50 m media center and connected the old speakers and was shocked, they actually sounded pretty good.When out of the lake on windly rough day the 5” speakers just were not enough. It became quite clear to me how people can blow there speakers quite easily by over powering.So added 2 of these 8 inch speakers to back of the boat, run slightly higher gain on amp to the 8” rear over the 5” fronts, and the sound output seems to have doubled and on rough windy days i still well bellow the -16 dB level i was playing the 5” at.I use a recording device to record the speakers at high levels and then play it back with head phones at low levels to fun the Max volume there becomes audible distortion. Then i can find my max volume level without damaging the speakers.The sound quality isn’t one of my fav as I’m very partial to silk tweeter and softer speakers like, boss, high end automotive jl audio. And in large spaces like my shop Klipsh.But the bang for the buck on these is a bargain i would have lost money betting against these that they couldn’t or wouldn’t sound 1/2 as good as they do.I really checked the tweeters good after the reviews said so many came loose or broken. I couldn’t get either of these to budge.Add in.There a little lacking in response at low levels so i would recommend paring them up with a 4-5.5” speakers to get better low volume responses and the ability to have beach party

Absolutely kick-@ss speakers for the money. Installed in my 99 Mazda Miata. Took a risk, wasn't sure if it would fit, but it does. There is about 1" the the door panel can't close, but it doesn't affect anything, and you can't see it unless you know to look.Speaker quality is amazing. Feels like there is a small high quality sub in the car. Amazing attack on this thing.
